THYNN ICE (US) - S/T Test Press LP 1992

OK, this one here is a really rare, and relatively unknown test press LP from '92. It's more on the melodic side of US metal and it's recommended for the fans of FIFTH ANGEL, HITTMAN etc. I personally wasn't blown away by it and imo some comments i've read/heard that are like "one the best 5 obscure US metal albums" are a bit exaggerated. Anyway, the upload is mine, but the original rip is my friend's Vaggelis, one of the guys who run this blog:

Many thanx! Good or not, it's always a treat at least getting to hear these major obscurities. I'm only on the first minutes of the opener, but at least this song sounds like a hit (and blows away anything I've heard by HITTMAN or FIFTH ANGEL I might add...)
..and cheers for the reminder of that blog. Just finished listening to that old Greek 7" - not amazing, but cool&weird in a way that makes DaN a happy DaN. Keep an eye out for it over there, will ya'

I highly doubt that, but you know your stuff so this must be really good. Thanks for the share man.

Thanks, I was sent another link for this so had listened to it a few times already, but there was one track that cut-off there so it's great to get a complete rip
I like some of the tracks a lot, but it's also quite 'ordinary' US metal; there's no mystical atmosphere there or such, which pretty much means it doesn't bother me at all I'll never own it.

It's great how these discussions really flourish most of the time isn't it, haha

Yeah, so many heated discussions on so many uploads in Poisonoise...
Even if one person really wants to listen to something that i have then i'll try to make an upload, but i certainly won't beg anyone for any kind of feedback. It's cool if one decides to make some comments, but i won't lose my sleep if the upload doesn't receive the feedback it ''should''. I think we all know how many are downloading stuff from here and how many/who are actually leaving feedback sooner or later, whether it is good or bad, doesn't matter.
It is a fact, some people register here only for the mp3s.

Thanks for sharing this, I knew it by reputation only. Definitely on the melodic side but still pretty good on 1st impression. I'd agree that some of the claims that this is a lost all-time classic are exaggerated, but it's definitely worth a listen or three

Whoah, Dan, this doesn't come close to topping the materpieces found on the first FIFTH ANGEL LP!

like this album. I tried for years of digging in the bay area to find a copy, no luck. Not only that NO one, not one single person I ever talked to there had heard of them.

Yeah i don't know what DaN was thinking when he said that. It doesn't even come close to the awesomeness of the first FA album.

Off topic, but I guess it's a good thing that we have so many "US Metal" enthusiasts around here because I've often seen Fifth Angel get slagged quite badly in other places. Not that I dislike the band, but this is just so different from what I normally read.

Really? I haven't experienced any slagging of FA. The first FA record is pretty much universally praised in the metal world. Many consider it one of the shining jewels of US 80's metal.
