So, I've finally got hold of a member of the band Savagers!
The band was formed in 1980 as "Killers" in a small village oustide of Halmstad. In 1983 they changed their name to Savagers and recorded their first demo, which included:
• Intro
• Thunderpain
• Destiny
• Restless ´n wild
• Battlesword
In 1984 they recorded the "Prechers Of Steel" MLP in 500 copies. The band wasn't happy with the mix.
In 1985 they recorded another demo containing:
• Take Me Away
• King Of The Fire
• Over The Rainbow
• Vi Är Tre (Swedish lyrics was a demand from Rock-DM)
• Out Of Control
They split about a year after.

In 1990 they re-united as X-Eryus with two more members and recorded the LP "Expose" on Büms Records, but they folded only a year after.

The members are - Savagers
Whitey Xéro (Sören Lindmark, lead guitar and vocals)
Steven Thunderhawk (Stefan Hozjan, bass and vocals)
Andy Doublehammer (Anders Fransson, drums)

- X-Eryus:
Sören Lindmark, lead guitar and vocals
Stefan Hozjan, bass and vocals
Anders Fransson, guitar and vocals
Joakim Patsonen, keyboard and vocals
Patrick Fransson, drums

Great research!

To bad the music of that MLP never lived up to its "rare & kult" status :(
Have you heard those demos? Better than the vinyl? A Poisonoise-upload would be very welcomed, if only for scientific reasons..

I'm kinda curious though, do you know if all 500 copies of the MLP were sold/distributed, or is it possible that a major part of them were destroyed/lost?

I mean, only about 300 copies of GOTHAM CITY's "Black Writs" exist, but you still come across it every now & then, unlike "Preacher Of Steel", which is just about impossible to find. Sounds like "withdrawn edition" to me..

According to the guy in the band they hardly sold any copies themselves, but in 1990 a record dealer in Halmstad bought the lot and sold them to someone outside of Sweden. He didn't know to whom.

Hope the demos will be better. The album didn't do much for me...

Cool!
Very anxious to hear the demos of course, even if the MLP is rather crappy.

There are several demo cuts uploaded on Youtube I just saw.
Nothing is obscure anymore! :D
