Especially for my dear, soon-to-be-uploading-MAX-PLANCK's-demo friend ION BRITTON

The debut "Charged" demo of '83: http://rapidshare.com/files/4395632/OS1.zip.html

2nd "Volume II" demo '84: http://rapidshare.com/files/4399250/OS2.zip.html

3rd "Sent Out Of Orion" demo '84: http://rapidshare.com/files/5421973/ORI ... 5.zip.html (password: www.thecorroseum.com)

I don't know much about this band I'm afraid. Before they were featured on Stormbringer's "Metal Knights" compilations, the closest they ever came to vinyl was their involvement in the awful "Swedish Metal Aid"-project. Maybe Mordred knows more?

FUCK! I just heard the first demo and it was pure crap. Sorry Dan, but i won't upload anything.

OK, seriously talking now, many thanks for both demos. I have already downloaded the first one, it's sound pretty cool, we'll see how /if it will "grow" later on. However, the one that i want to hear anyhow is the third one...

Max Planck is being uploaded right now. In an hour or so it will be online...

So, are you the reason why it told me all servers are full when I tried to upload earlier? :P

After hours of going through unsorted, unlabeled cdrs I FINALLY found the 3rd OS demo. Many songs did appear on the 2 previous ones, but together with the great, new songs I'd say this is their best effort, i.e. not as uneven as the 2 previous demos.

I've just heard the third demo and i feel somehow embarassed. The first two demos were good but not something extremely special. Classic heavy metal w/ lots of references to 70's HR is surely not one of my favorite metal styles...Not bad, but quite typical IMO.

"Sent out..." demo was OS's last chance to prove me they were a great band that really deserved another fate. Well, it's pretty interesting material, but sadly none of the tracks ever reached the qualilty of "Atomic War" which was on "Metal Knights". No cheesy commercial moments were spotted, but those 70's influences still spoil the picture... I can say that it's a pity that they didn't release any official album, but in no case it was a crime. I guess that my expectations were too high and thus the fall hurted more than the usual.

Dan, thanks for the upload. My OS quest is over now. :(

Nope, they're not in the absolute top-league when it comes to old Swedish demo-acts. Had they stricken a few of the songs from each demo the overall impression might have been better. I guess they were a bit too productive for their own good.

Urgh.. NOT AGAIN!
Can you give me an exact playingtime on the first track and I'll compare it to my own and try to fix the whole demo it in CoolEdit. Have you checked the 2nd demo?

Yes, here are the running times for the Charge demo. I didn't count silence at the end of the tracks, these are the times when the music actually stops.

Song 1: 4.59
Song 2: 4.12
Song 3: 3.47
Song 4: 2.55
Song 5: 2.43
Song 6: 3.40

I didn't chek your rip of the second demo, but here are some running times off of my copy. I don't know how you divided the tracks (I for example have the intro and Last Days of the World in the same track) so I only checked three tracks for reference.

Crusade of Heavy Metal: 5.12
Black Cellar: 3.07
It Came a Hurricane from Hell: 3.09

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you correct this in Cool Edit using the time/stretch function, make sure to also change the pitch and not just the length of the track. When a cassette deck plays to slow it also lowers the pitch. So just speeding the track up in Cooledit and leaving the pitch unchanged will give inferior result.

This reminded me that I need to check the speed of my copies and maybe correct them before uploading. Stay tuned..

Does someone can re-upload the third OS demo please? been spinning the metal knights compil a lot those last days and 'atomic war' is definitely one of the highlight of this great compil. Need to hear more of this band.
