I'm listening to it right now and although it isnt bad or 'nu' or 'modern sounding', it somehow leaves me cold. The vocals of Rivera at certain moments give me the impression that they have been 'processed' in the studio. I think it's b-class Nosferatu riffing mixed with some elements of their fifth and worst album. Don't know, i expected more. Any other who has heard it and wants to share a few words?

Well, I heard most of the songs. It does sound modern-ish to my ears, but more importantly it had little to do with the classic Helstar and I won't be seen buying it anytime soon. Definitely b-class riffs and it's way too straight forward to impress fans of the classic Helstar releases.

I heard it once more today, Rivera sounds tired in a ''i have sung all these things before" way. He is not believing 100% what he sings anymore i think. He sings high, but he doesn't scream from the depths of his soul like he used to. The whole album lacks the all-out aggression and the menacing atmosphere of the old Helstar albums. They are trying to sound like that but they don't succeed imo.

I listened to it yesterday. It bored me, but Helstar usually does bore me, so don't put to much into that.

Doesn't sound too promising, so I'll put that on my "got to get a listen before buying" list.

Guess I will stay as far as I can from this release..... Doesn't really surprise me considering how nu metal orientated Larry's project was..... too bad! :(

I listened to it twice again yesterday (gonna review it) and actually I don't think it's that bad. I think it sounds fairly along the lines of albums like Remnants of War and A Distant Thunder. Obviously with a more modern production, but I've heard worse. Now, when it comes to Helstar I'm nothing more than an occasional listener, but had I been a huge fan of their old records I think I would have appreciated this album greatly.

At least it's better than the new Metal Church album, which is a complete waste of time unfortunately. :(

time for some is a healer, but alas he's killer for the majority....
