Already got it bookmarked

Would love to get it, but not sure i can afford to be competitive for this one; it's been an expensive month so far

Just a quick question regarding rattlehead14's auctions: Don't you find it weird that about half an hour after this seller lists new objects, at least 4 bids have already been placed on each item. It appears to be the same bidders on every item if you look at their feedback rating, and these initial bidders never actually seem to win any of the auctions. And it's like this almost every time.
Now, I'm not implying that anything fishy is going on, but why bid after half an hour on an item, time and time again, and never win? It must be very frustrating!

Attempting to get a cheap deal?
It seems to be this way on every well known sellers auctions.

But I don't get it, if the seller is well known - you know the item is going to attract a lot of attention, and therefore sell at its market value.

Exactly.
But not everyone has common sense...
I've sold to some pretty stupid people over the years.

Very true
I think there are some people who take the advise of ebay and bid there MAX bid day one and then hope for the best.
If you search by bidder you will see this with a lot of bidders. They bid on 100-200 Items a week and win 3-4

I would also say the fact that they never win is not true.
As RM bids day one on the stuff he wants and he comes away with quit a few.

That actually makes sense. If you're only out there to make a good deal, i.e. to buy something cheap to be able to sell it for more later, it's not a bad strategy after all. I guess I was only looking from a collector's viewpoint.

Khund- yeah, i've noticed that w/ Jim's auctions. I think some people place small bids on things right away as a means of keeping track of items they're interested in. Jim also starts his auctions at the same time every week, so folks know exactly when new stuff is posted; I spend my lunch break every Wed. watching his auctions close and seeing what new items he lists (hmmm, reading back over that, it sounds kinda sad and creepy

). Regardless, Jim's a great guy and he hardly needs to plnt fake bids on his auctions; they get plenty of bids and attention

This single ROCKS!!!!!!
One of the riffs in 'Birth' is a ripoff of a well known Slayer riff from their first album, but who cares ...

Yep, it's a good 'un; I like the b-side more than the a-side. Gonna have to sit down with the checkbook and see whether I can take a stab at it or not.

It's from the Live And Otherwise blog. Since the blogkeeper is registered here, I'm pretty sure he agrees.
