The site is currently down. This is the last link I had:roihlem wrote:hey Dan, where is that link to the Metal Search site? I loved that site though I did not understand a word, it had often exclusive rarities offered...especially in the Asian scene...I frequently visited the site and a few weeks ago it got a new design...and now I cannot find the link...

If you have a new link, let me know.
Just saw that topic now for the first time, and speaking about that Thrash list site, wasn't it originally made by some Russian guys?
Here's another thrash list, fuller and with bands descriptions, although I PRESUME that the authors are Thrashmageddon have it all kids (at least Wicca was updated to the site immediately after I uploaded it there, and as far as I remember some others too).

And whenever Roco finishes his page ... : www.thrashmetal.info
...
Or maybe you should add Musik-Sammler link as well as it's a database of thousands of metal releases as well?

A very interesting resource:
http://megawattfanzine.blogspot.co.uk/
Articles, interviews, opinion, memorabilia and some rare d/l's too.
Focus is mainly on the 80s Belgian scene but also covers Metal worldwide.

Re: Links-dept. reopened!
The Links are back!
Please read the intro and let me know what's missing. For instance, one obvious gaping hole are some sites on Asian (Japan, Korea, Malaysia etc..) Metal. Are there any left?
And what about more mp3 blogs? A dead phenomenon?
Think I should add some YouTube channels, internet radio shows etc?
All tips are welcomed, except of course pages on privately owned networks that requires registration...

Not sure if this is the type of thing you're looking for DaN, but i'd heartily recommend the MayoNoise blog if you fancy reading some fine writing about the old Metal/Hard Rock scene. The entire site is the work of Bob Mayo who was the bass player in Wargasm back in the day. He's a really good writer and always seems to come up with great subject matter & an unusual angle to approach it from.
https://mayobat.wordpress.com/
Also heartily recommended is ümlaut blog where extremely well connected 'Murder In The Front Row' co-author Brian Lew tells tales of the Metal scene past & present. You get terrific well written articles, amazing photos of the folks involved & scans of rare shirts, passes, zines etc.
Over the years Brian went from being 'just' a teenage Metal fan to running the Megadeth fan club to working for Motörhead for the best part of a decade & he put in some hours at Metallica HQ too, but despite his insider status he remains a dedicated fan which is always front and centre in his writing. Unfortunately he hasn't updated the site for a long time, but there's plenty of archive material to keep you busy.

It's chock full of fascinating & amusing entries like this one:

Hey, Kit! Cheers for pointing me towards these. It's actually great Oyster reading in there as well.
BTW, DaN, I steel see TEST PBWOW in upper left corner on the forum gate. I've sent you email regarding that a while ago.

@kit: Thanx for those. So much interesting stuff to read there, esp. the MayoNoise blog. Will spend the better half of the week to go through those
@nenad: Oh, didn't notice that. That's the name of the forum layout profile. No idea why it's up there. I'll see if it can be removed. Probably not.

Re: Links-dept. reopened!
Glad you found them interesting DaN, though i fear you're being too optimistic by only setting aside half the week to spend on reading.
Though neither blog really fits into the existing 'Links' sub-headings, there's so much great info, old school spirit & opinion to be found that they gladden my (Metal) heart whenever i stop by & deserve a mention.
I thought about posting links to those sites before, but assumed they were known quantities to Corro users. Because i'm apparently the last guy on earth not on fb i tend to suppose that everyone is hip to the places i go and that they're old news to most but perhaps i'm completely wrong.
Noisenik, i'd forgotten that Mayobat was an Oyster 'farmer', i should have sent you a link sooner.
Here's another site that may be new to you, a photo-only blog called Internet K-Hole. It's not specifically Metal in tone, but our olde sub-culture is covered a fair bit in rare pix like the ones below, alongside Punk, Goth, Indie & Biker life and general day to day 70s-90s old-school-cool.
I think Ernest Thesiger was the one who put me on to it originally. My many thanks to you sir, I've lost many an hour having my mind blown by it's contents.

Tons of old flyers and well documentated tour dates/gigs history. Mainly speed/thrash, early death metal, hardcore.

So utterly perplexing...
Can't.... Stop.... Scrolling...
Who?
What??
Why???
The 80's in 3 words: Sarcofago and Madonna.
Great collector-nerdery! Added to the page.Maxim wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 10:38 am http://metallipromo.com/

I know, it's utterly overwhelming & i love the complete lack of any context.
I keep expecting to see prople i know/knew but then a goofy 'off duty' pic of a young Jeff Hanneman will pop up out of nowhere.
So many questions, all likely to remain unanswered.
