Is 15 euro a decent price to pay for the reissue of Virtue 7" limited to 250 copies?

thanks

A lot of those reissues seem to sell for around $20, so it's probably an ok buy. It's not a legit reissue TMK, just a bootleg from South America.

Yeah, it is a bootleg, but a decent one. Yellow vinyl. Not sure what the original would fetch.

Traditionally, the original goes for $50-75. however, the last couple of copies auctioned on ebay have gone for twice that; $150 or so. It's an extremely popular single, though I'm not sure if the recent price jump is representative of an increase in demand, the overall increase in price of metal vinyl, or if those copies went for more than normal due to the 'ebay effect' (i.e., people paying a lot more than the item is worth b/c they get into bidding wars, don't bother to look for items on other sites, etc).
FYI, a lot of the popular nwobhm singles have been bootlegged onto colored vinyl. I don't know the details, but most were limited to a few hundred copies and they always seem to come out of Brazil. Some of the rare Swedish singles have also been bootlegged onto colored vinyl; you see them on ebay for about $18

The truth is that i've never seen any of those Phoenix boots being sold for less than 12 Euros. Either way, it's still not a very good deal. I mean, it's only a fucking 2 track 7" bootleg and having this in mind, those prices can't be decent at all.

I got mine from a US distro for $12 US, so that's a bit less. Or maybe not so much less at the time (2004?)

Boots are hard to gauge in terms of value. It's easy to say that they're worthless since they're not legit release. However the truth is that people pay large sums for bootlegs all the time.

That legit copy of Virtue stayed on ebay only a few hours before someone bought it at $140. If someone wants to have a copy on vinyl but can't afford that price, then $10-20 for a well-done boot copy probably doesn't sound too bad to them.

If they think this way, too bad for them. A good price for a Militia boot would probably be around 150$ then. Last auction on ebay ended at 3000$ as we all can remember. If anyone (i'm talking about the people you're referring to, nightsblood) thinks that that's a fair price, all i can say is my condolences.

Ion: I agree; I myself wouldn't pay such prices for boots, but folks do. Not quite on the Militia scale, but the bootleg vinyl pressing of LEGEND sells for about $75-100 while the original sells for $500+.
Boots may be worthless to some collectors, but to others they aren't. Things only have the value that we give to them. Someone not into records would look at that Militia auction and think record collectors must be nuts to pay that much for one piece of vinyl :)
