Highest valued US METAL releases

Last legend I saw went for $500. Why has the price come down from the $1,000 mark? I have to be honest- that album bores me to tears. i sold my reissue vinyl copy a few years ago.

The savatage on blue vinyl has sold for as much as $750, but I think it 'normally' sells for more like $400-ish. I can't say for sure but that $750 auction seemed like a one-yime fluke/bid war.

Anyone care to fill us in on Emerald City or Wheelz of Steel?

Hmmm.... interesting thread. What about HAMMERON and ION BRITTON? Both of those go for alot, even though the HAMMERON isn't worth a penny music-wise.

What about Lord Ryur 7" (I know that they're from Canada)? As I do understand only 100 copies were pressed ...

Not a vinyl, but one guy told that he recently sold his original FEMS CD copy of Chastain - Ruler of the Wasteland (I guess with OBI) on Gemm for $575 ... And CDs like Sanctum (100 copies) or Crillson (200 copies) could also reach $250 and more ..

Good question about Lord Ryur; I've also heard only 100 were prssed, but I've never heard of it being an incredibly expensive item...?

In the early days LR 7" sold for 300+
After Qty showed up it went for 150-250 and has stayed there ever since.

YES only 100 copies made!!

Lord Ryur slays!!!! best private seveninch ever as far as im concerned,blows the strychnine/myth/minotaur/destroyer competition to hell and back,any suggestions of a better US/CA seveninch?
worth every fucking penny even if you buy it for 300 dollars plus

Indeed worth every penny, bought it for $200 last year and WILL NEVER REGRET this purchase. I even like it more then my Heathens Rage 12" and that one is already priceless in my book

Messiah – Going Insane, $7-800
Sabre – Keepers of the Sword, maybe $500?
Street Child is definitely over $500, don't know if it breaks $1k

$750 for Sirens is definitely a fluke.

If you want to get into hard rock territory, there's probably a bunch more (Loosely Tight, Metropolis, Sorcery, etc.)

Let's avoid the hard rock releases, or at least start a separate thread for them

OK, so assuming everyone's quoted prices are accurate, the list so far, going from most to least expensive (stopping around the $500 mark) looks something like this: (prices in US$)

solar eagle 1000 (based on 1 auction, technically canadian)

Lord Ryür deserves all the glory they can get.Surely one of the very best metal singles ever!But i have seen there is only the vynil,no cover no sheet.How can we are sure that this band was Canadian?

How did you come up with these prices? Popsike?
These seem to just be guesses and ebay sales that were listed on Popsike(which are NOT all the sales made on ebay)

To me it is better to leave things as (+) which would just give it a higher range.

For the reason of:
militia 3000 (I have sould 2 copies for a LOT more then this)
paradoxx 1500-1800 (I have sold and have seen copies sell for a LOT more then this)
avatar on yellow vinyl 1500 (I have sold 3 for a lot more then this)
graven image 1200 (Very close)
leather nunn 1200 (Way too high more like 500-700)
iron cross 1000-2000 (ok)
liquid earth 1000+ (+)

messiah - 700-800 (going insane only)

I mentioned Sabre based on a conversation with a former band member. He told me he knew of a sleeveless copy that sold for $450. Of course that could be exaggeration on his part.
