The Corroseum forum (new design under construction)

Anyone familiar with these guys? I liked their 1st 3 albums but lost interest after the fourth; it was weaker and I was losing interest in the commercial-friendly 80s metal at that point. i didn't realize they put out so many other albums later on (granted, several look like live/comp albums). Thanks for any info on the later releases.

For those unfamiliar with them, they played commercial friendly metal kinda similar to mid-80s Scorpions, 'night of the crime' era Icon, Dokken etc. They were German, so the Scorpions comparison got used alot even though it's not the best one

I remember I liked some song I heard on a Metal radio show back in the days, but their albums were just too sweetened for my tastes. I'm quite sure they were the continuation of the slightly heavier act CACUMEN, who released 2 albums + an EP in the early 80's.

I really like some of their tracks especially on the first 2 albums. But I can't find one album that is great from beginning to end, a very common phenomenon in the commercial HR/HM bands as far as i'm concerned.

I have only the Don't Touch The Light and Point Blank CDs.
Don't Touch The Light is a very great record and actually the only actuall metal record by Bonfire.Point Blank although a good CD is not metal, more like US hardrock.It seems that Bonfire after CACUMEN and Don't Touch The Light were played US hardrock aiming mainly at US audience of that time.Don't you forget that glam was at it its peak in late 80's so many european bands changed their sound.

The only Bonfire cd's i've listened to are Fireworks and Point Blank, which are both very good records, especially for fans of melodic rock/metal. Since i'm writing this i plan to get their two most recent discs. Hope they don't disappoint.

I dig the first four albums that they put out and those along with the three Cacumen full-lengths are sitting in my collection.

Decent stuff, which has its time and place, just like any other sub-genre.

All three full-lengths were re-issued a few years back on CD which is the only to obtian them in that format.

Yeah I like Cacumen a lot more, much more Accept influence before they went in a direction similar to late 80's Victory.

I never realized before that Cacumen made a third album (Down to hell). Is it rare?
