I just thought it would be fun to go through some of the metal fan cliches they we love and hate togather. I'll let someone else start but I can think of a few .

Another word I REALLY hate is "True"...what the fak is"True"anyway...pfff...

Retard Metalheads that do the exact same pose for every photo.

You know the one. Tounge out with a stupid look on their face and pulling the horns with both hands.

It's cringeworthy.

Metalheads who think they MUST wear a metal t-shirt whenever they go out. It's pathetic.

I totally agree with you...that's why I rarely wear Metal-T-Shirts anymore...oh and that REALLY pathetic thing with the devil-horns it has become too common nowadays, and it has lost its meaning....

- The retard BO stinking metalheads in combat boots, pissed stained pants with denim vests covered in patches who think they're the saviours of human-kind.

- That long hair automatically makes you metal.

- Most NWN styled collecting mentalities, being metal is owning every patch/fridge magnet/poster/sticker/beer coaster/badge. Pathetic consumeristic ploys.

Yeah I totally agree it's favoured by the worse of metal fans as well.

Of the more dare I say "true" metalhead cliches I hate the ones who basically quote back the Manowar discography when speaking in real life/on forums. "Hail true brother of metal!" usually big Power Metal fans and usually consider "True Metal" as a genre of heavy metal. It seems a lot come from Italy as well (not specifically though)...Does anyone else know this variety.....

I don't really notice that many cliches, when I see a cliché-ridden/simple metalhead/goth walking up to me or trying to start a conversation, I just walk away.

I also make a point of not mentioning to people I listen to metal. They'll just name drop the usual nu/core or 'I don't care' metal bands...

I also love the wannabes that try to start up a conversation & all they know anything about is Metallica or Slipknot! Fuck off!

Actually I think anyone that listens to good metal should take it as an obligation to educate other metalheads in good metal. They listen to Slipknot and Metallica? Play them some Fates and Queensryche. If they don't like it, they don't like it, but at least be a positive influence on their lives

I have always thought that we, as metalheads have the obligation to teach the younger metallers those bands they wont get easily. Thats why publish my fanzines, have websites and the blog. It is up to everyone the continue into the sorrowful way of Metal, or keep them in the easy way of commercialism.
