Metal collection without owner

Post by deathster »

Have you thought what happens to your Metal collection after you have died? I mean unnatural death (accident, disease etc). This is difficult topic, but think about it at night before you go to sleep.
I know one guy drowned some years ago and he had cool stuff like early Running Wild PicLps etc. I do not know what happened to his records. Maybe his parents gave it to his close metal friends...who knows. Same question: what happened to Euronymous collection? Does anyone know?

My parents would probably throw them in the thrashcan, or perhaps give them for free to a secondhandshop.

Or if tomas is really, really fast, they would give them to him. :)

They wouldn't have to give them to me, since I would already be loading them into a rented truck while you're still on your deathbed 8)

Serious now, I think my parents would probably give my brother first pick in them and give the rest to my close friends.
To avoid problems, it's best to put them in your will.

But I think most guys here are in 20s or 30s...so little too early for making a will?

I hope would go to my parents to sell, for the all bullshit I put them through, but they would probably give it to my friends anyways.
I inherited my Grandfather's collection of stream engine LP's (about 600 or so in all), his bluegrass 78's etc and sold it all. I don't feel bad about it, I'd rather have it go to someone that appreciates it.

my brother shall sell all my shit and make a 10-years holiday-trip afterwards, that sucker ;)

About Euronymous' collection: I think parts got sold in Helvete to cover the last costs of the DSP items which got released shortly before and shortly after his death before VOW took over. I also think he didn't have a big collection as he mostly sold it in Helvete (some guy from Trondheim once mailed me he bought Euronymous' personal C.F. - Morbid Tales Picture LP in the Helvete shop shortly before he got killed)

I have read that too. So this Trondheim guy bought Euronymous' Morbid Tales pic that timeframe. However I am sure Euronymous sold a lot of his own stuff during these years. It was often said he lost constantly money with his releases and with the shop.

Hmm..what will happen to my collection when I'll die...nice question! I've thought it very well, and I think I should make some kind of testament, ehehe! There's no possibility that my mother, or ANY of my relatives will touch any of my records, since they know that my Spirit will haunt them forever if they do so! EHEHEHE! I want my records ONLY for me, I won't share them, not in this life, not in the other, so I'd like to see them stand still in their place, than somebody will sell them out..NO WAY! Another thought of mine was to bury me with my records, but, that's out of the question, since my coffin should be like 2 rooms long, in that case, ahaha! Naahhh, crazy words, but true!

From experience, families try to find metal friends of their child that has passed away and give them the records. I have not agreed to it, personally.

haha, you're right, but I made this clear to my relatives: He who'll dare to touch any of my records will have my eternall curse, and they seem to respect this for the time beeing...but I don't trust them actually...should I make a secret crypt somewhere, or put them in some secret Post Office box? Hehehe...nice thought, but I think I'll need a whole post office exclusively for my case, AHAHAHAHA, AHAHAHAHAA!!!

I know a lot of heavy metal vulture-people that will not mind having your eternal curse placed upon them if they can score all that vinyl.

When you're dead you will no longer mind, but just saying.
