What does have to do with money? And born early?
You can buy a tape and record the stuff upon, can't you? So therefore you don't need to be born earlier or have tons of money...

There HAS to be a few real examples of albums turning up on want lists after someone merely making an innocent joke long ago, hasn't there? Or someone intentionally spreading false rumours of an album's existance as a prank? doG knows I've been tempted to do so myself a few times

I remember that in the late 90s I often read in magazines that people were searching for a Bathory 7" called "Hail Sathanas"...I never saw that record and it seems like this record doesn`t exist...Anyone knows more about this?

Yeah, I remeber also this "Hail Sathanas" bootleg stories from 90s. Well, in 2005 or 2006 this bootleg was made real (7" EP by Mexican label). I have it.
