I was having a hard time trying to get rid of it for about 10$ some time ago (the music was weak).

It's very tempting to make some money on buying and selling CDs on eBay, but guys who do that in wholesale quantities and make a living out of it (I am of course not talking about sovdat here) are the real pain in the ass of regular buyers - not shill bidders or "could you end the auction early" guys. The wholesale OOP metal dealers are responsible for the high prices that the CDs reach nowdays.

Yes it is. But does thallos really make money when he lists 850 cds in those high listing prices? I think it's just ebay's employee or agent (!). He has outbid me at least 3 times for a certain cd just to list it $10 more. Does he really think that he will cause "technical lack" of ALL the metal titles? When we have all those Japanese guys with tons of stuff every week?
Speaking of sovdat I don't have any complaint except that he outbid me on Kronin (he had the cd already) for 10 or so Euros (reasonable for that average cd as after John's auction all the thrashers "suddenly" are looking for it) just to resell it for $35. If you add shipping on the buying item (16 Euros) & remove the listing ebay fees of $34.99, selling fees, paypal fees it's almost the same so it doesn't make sense at all. But the sinless to cast the first stone...

1. I never denied that I'll buy a CD I own / don't need if I see it for cheap just in order to re-sell / trade it (option 1 in most cases due to my financial crisis

), but I have never asked anyone to cancel the auction early - I know the seller of Viking and since I bought two others CDs from him and placed a bid on Viking, HE offered to cancel the auction early.
2. Most of the stuff I'm selling was not meant to be sold initialy, but I have other things to pay outside ebay / collecting, and that's why I got rid of stuff like Siren, Testimonia, Last Descendants, 1st Decimator and hundreds of others from my personal collection. Speaking of Kronin, I had that CD 2 years ago and I sold it on ebay to thallos for around $36. Since it's pretty bad speaking music-wise, it wasn't hard to include it with the rest when I began with ebay auctions

John who? saxon?

I know that it wasn't hard to sell it, I'm just wondering why you have to do it without a serious reason. Did you expect to sell it for $150? I wish you better luck next time with the specific title...
Yes saxon, he was listening to it (again) back in the day & he decide to "advertise" that as "great thrash". Of course when I sent him the demo he realized how's the good thrash like. The cd sold "ok" as I can remember, the several copies from ebay.de disappeared "suddenly" & the rest is history...

To give it a 2nd chance + to add fill the gap in my 83-93 speed/thrash "archive". I guess mp3 copies of some atrocities will do
John's taste is a bit different, he's a lot into 90s Pantera & Japanese thrash bands ... I just don't know why did you want to buy it at first place?

Not first place, just 10 Euros to save on shipping with the other 4 cds...

Good to see I'm not the only one thinking this about John, his definition of thrash metal is a lot wider than mine.
I traded a few times with him, and quite often, what he defined as thrash metal was simply power metal with double bass drums, or dull groove metal crap from the mid-90s.

Not even talking the way he sends the cds, without cases & no protection whatsoever ... (and still asking for high shipping cost rates)
