I listened to Outre, didn't do anything for me. This is my top five HM releases this year:

Doomsword, Paradise Lost (yes, seriously, it's very good), Mekong Delta, Stygian Shore, Sacred Oath.

A good-going mention goes to Amaran's Plight, the new Primordial (which I just haven't listened to long enough to tell if it's one of the best of the year), Pale Divine, Reverend Bizarre and the little non-metal mention to The Psyke Project – Apnea

Nifelheim “Envoy of Lucifer”
Primordial “To the Nameless Dead”
Candlemass “King of the Grey Islands”
Superchrist “Headbanger”
Sarcofagus Inc ”Core Values”

Great stuff, although with the exception of Sarcofagus, no real surprises there. I also liked Portrait and Saturnalia Temple, for example.

Zion's Abyss "TALES" and Stychian Shore were the best releases for me, I rate both records 10/10

I only bought seven new releases that I liked, so I present my Top 7 of '07:

1. Helloween - Gambling With the Devil (unexpectedly great comeback)
2. Gamma Ray - Land of the Free II
3. Doomsword - My Name Will Live On
4. Turisas - The Varangian Way
5. Korpiklaani - Tervaskanto
6. Manowar - Gods of War
7. Ministry - The Last Sucker

There were a couple albums of interest that I never got around to checking out, like the new Mekong Delta. Helm, what's it sound like? I haven't heard anything about it.

It sounds like prime Mekong Delta, meaning Dances of Death era. The drum production is atrocious.

I've also been liking the new Primordial and the new Nifelheim lots but it's too early to say if they're so amazing. Must listen to Zion's Abyss. Will listen to TTD's Netherworlds soon.

Slough Feg - Hardworlder
The Lamp of Thoth - Cauldron of Witchery 10"
Threshold - Dead Reckoning
Hammers of Misfortune - The Locust Years (possibly came out in 2006??)
Age of Nemesis - Terra Incognita
Khallice - The Journey
Candlemass - King of the Grey Islands
Vital Remains - Icons of Evil

OK, I'll try to pick up a copy. Hopefully it'll get a US release eventually.

Yeah, that was 2006. Good album. I think Hammers are one of the best American metal bands around right now (not that they have much competition).
