Bathory sounds better on CD starting with Twilight of the Gods. And the two before that sound best on cassette to me! With the later albums also there is the issue of Black Mark stuffing 25+ minutes onto one side of an LP. Horrible.

I find every time BM re-issues something the quality goes downhill. Even tho' it wasn't a re-issue that Bathory Box Set was so disappointing as far as packaging goes... content was fine, but the rest was just hideous!

Does anyone know how/if there is any way to tell the difference between the legitimate and bootleg copies of I.N.C. "Razorback" and "The Visitor" CD's?
Giant Records of course…

The matrix number is different, the bootlegs have album's title for it, just like any other Greek bootlegs + everything looks the same (just printed in lower quality). I don't have my original right here now, but the matrix on original is divided on three parts of it, if I remember correclty one part was the same as cat. number, the 2nd was something like "manufacted by ..." and I can't really remember what was written on the third part of it ... Anyhow, I have a photo somewhere on my computer, I'll upload it in few hours!

Does anyone know if the Virgin Steele "re-issues" are legit?
I'm talking about the T&T/Noise/Sanctuary 2002 releases.
I've seen pictures of the back insert and across the bottom it reads “For sale in Russia and CIS counties only” which raises a red flag as a russian bootleg for me.
I'm interested because I shelled out decent money for my first press copies over the years and want to know if I could have saved money.

I'm trying to fill in my Trouble (US) collection. I know that Manic Frustration has been bootlegged. Copies show up frequently on eBay. Does anyone know how to tell a bootleg from an original? Thanks.

Greeks are now booting Demolition Hammer - Tortured Existence. Looks ALMOST legit, 'cept the center ring of the CD is entirely black.
Oh, and the I.N.C. question....Razorback has a different band picture on the original than on the boot (picture on the back CD inlay). The band picture posted at Metal Archives is the one on the original press of Razorback. The one on the boot is completely different.

I'm in the middle of a move at the moment and everything is in boxes, but when I get a chance in the next day or two I'll check for you.
You are talking about the Scratch Records release right?
