1. Good German Power/Heavy/Speed, but the nasal vocals are laughableThe Sentinel wrote:Are following german records any good???
1. Salem's Law: Tale Of Goblin's Breed 1989
2. Dawn Hawk: "Same" 1990
3. Reaper: Fairies Return 1986
Thanks in advance.

2. Never heard.
3. I only have their LP on Metal Enterprises and it's one of the few really good ME releases. Classic German HM, like a more advanced ACCEPT maybe?
Postage included, but I think I'll pass for the moment. Bigger priorities...DaN wrote:Note that the music on the MLP is more epic/progressive than the primitive Doom on the demo. Still worth getting though. 40 euros might be OK too, unless there's postage on top.
Anyone know an orderly discography of Dark angel which includes all the different pressings and editions (they released on Azra/Metalstorm so that makes it a bit complicated...)

I think I've played this in a shop long ago and thought it was pretty lame & uninspiring US HR/quasi-metal, but I really don't remember. Which says a lot too I guess.Nicko McBuff wrote:Victim - Power Hungry, DMN... worth a listen?
Ugh.. those Azra shapes are a complete mystery. I would guess the label guy had very easy acces to a record pressing plant and just pressed up loads of crap every week, sawed them into different shapes and unloaded them at the nearest record shop. As for all the different DA-shapes I would say noone really knows, the label included.Anyone know an orderly discography of Dark angel which includes all the different pressings and editions (they released on Azra/Metalstorm so that makes it a bit complicated...)
Check RomanOfSteel's Azra-page for some info: http://www.forgottensteel.homepage.t-on ... nworks.htm

Haven't seen it before, but uploading would be interesting to check if it can be added on my wantlistomen of hate wrote:I have the "Fairies Return" EP. The first tracks are typical ACCEPT-metal with a MAIDEN touch for the guitars, they're not that bad.
The two last tracks are less interesting and more on an hard-rock edge.
The weak point of this EP (imo) are the vocals which are average.
I can upload it, if you want to judge by yourself.

Personally, i found it average. The weak & sometimes annoying vocals didn't help. The songwriting also -without being bad- didn't excite me as much as it should. Nice front cover, but how much do you intend to spend for a record with a "Great fantasy artwork" only? You'd better chase Reaper's EP which is a lot better imo.The Sentinel wrote:Being on a German steel ride lately, I'm interested in the album from Headstone "Excalibur". I heard good story's about it, but never had the chance to hear it. Is it really good old German steel??

I love this album. Prolly' my #1 German vinyl want. At best they sound like a primitive version of WARLORD, i.e. they have quite primitive songstructures and melodies, but the overall feel of the album is pretty epic. The Sentinel wrote:Being on a German steel ride lately, I'm interested in the album from Headstone "Excalibur". Prior to that demo they made a 7" (La haine Dans tes Yeux/Divine Comédie) in '83. Don't know what happened to them after. They were from Paris.omen of hate wrote:Does someone have some infos ona band called LOST HORIZON ? They had released a demo around 1983 or 1984 called "Les fleurs du mâle".
Did released other material ?
Thanx a lot !

Been wondering about this one for some time now:
Have STORMWITCH - Stronger than Heaven on the French ACCORD label (distributed by Musidisc). I understand the original vinyl issues of their records are somewhat of value, would this be too? Never came across it again, maybe some freak over here can tell me more
