Well, this is about the maximum price for the "regular" metal CDs (not counting all kinds of Metallica and Maiden misprints, radio promos etc., which can go for more of course :)) - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... :IT&ih=023

The reserved price was probably set on $225 or something ... and if you take a closer look you'll see that the highest bidder (0 feedback!) has 3 highest bids, so gods knows how much was he preparing to spend on it.

And the booklet has tab indentations, not worth $270 imo! Has to be dead-mint!

I was watching this auction too.

It gave me perspective on what my copy is worth in today’s market.

I won’t disclose that information in case I ever decide to sell them.

However, it wasn't to the degree of that auction.

Does this normally go up this often? I never really watched until the last time...

Did someone find some dead stock of the Leather Nunn lp or what?? In the past 3 or 4 years I've only seen it for sale probably 5 times, and then now there's been 2 listed on eBay within 2 months?! I need this.... but not a $800+ need....

2 is hardly a dead stock no?
I guess it's pretty normal for multiple copies of a very rare record to be sold within a short time span. One copy gets sold and people see how much their copy is worth, so they decide to sell it on ebay. Two months ago I saw a record I own sell for a crazy price, one month ago I sold mine on ebay and a few weeks later another one was put up for sale.

Yeah you're probably right. I didn't mean that 2 were the dead stock, but you know how money hungry sellers on eBay are. They'll sell one at a time to get the maximum amount of money that they can, instead listing 5 copies at once or whatever.

I would say in the case of these two recent auctions that both sellers are simply record stores that have happened to stumble across a copy, possibly in a group lot from someone who didnt even know what it's worth?

Hahaha...Id like to find that guy and get one for $20....that would be great. :D

Did anyone see the copy of MECHANARCHY that sold for $7 a few weeks ago? I missed buying it by about 10 minutes and missed out on what could have been the best deal of my life. It wasnt ebay though, it was some other record site I found (musicstack? im not sure, i have to check again).

I havent been that pissed in a long time.
:)
