The Corroseum forum (new design under construction)

For the sake of the guys that responded to this portion of the post. I know for a fact that at least 1 of the crazy and irrational cd collectors that came to this forum is directly responsible for driving a lot of serious oldschool metalheads away from visiting and contributing to this forum. I'm sure you know who I speak of.

Agreed, but here the person is the problem, not cd-buyers in general, right?

I don't see a problem here. If you don't like the 'Collector Porn - CD'-thread, don't look it up, I'm sure nobody wants to offend anyone with their posts.

Maybe this is it. The final sign I should just give up this forum for good (which I probably would have done years ago if it hadn't been owned by a friend of mine). It feels as if whenever I get into something everybody has a much later sign-up date than me, nobody thinks of The Corroseum the way I do and people don't even seem to grasp anything I'm writing unless it's a matrix number. Maybe I have no place here anymore. I might be just a remnant of the old cast when the forum meant something else. Who knows.

I was just bloody trying to write something humorous for a laugh. I even put two bloody smileys in the same post just to be sure the tone came across but that didn't help much. Maybe it wasn't funny at all but surely nothing to be offended by. That's what I thought anyway.

This forum has everything that facebook or whatsover lacks. I love forums like these. Whether one is into vinyls, cd's or both you can discuss and share overhere!

I came here because I thought that initially this forum was about good music not about the differences in music carriers.

A couple of new bargainbin finds.

I was at the Utrecht record fair today but to be honest it was a complete turn off now. Toooooo crowded and far toooooooo overpriced now. Bought 5 LPs. The only metal one is Twisted Tower Dire "The Isle of Hydra" 2LP. Been there for quite some years now but this was the last time

The vinyl can be found for 1 Euro either sometimes once in a month. It's like with that Sentinel Beast re-issue recently ... it costs more than the original record at ebay!

Well think that Screams in the Night was pressed in huge quantities, the 'limited edition' clear was 1000 copies so probably 5-10,000 or even more by New Renaissance, another 5-10,000 by MFN in UK, there is also a French pressing (forgot the label) maybe other countries as well but all in all there's at least 20,000 copies out there on vinyl (possibly much more). They made way more copies than were even demanded at the time obviously because a lot of the copies seen now are cut-outs. How much does a Death - Symbolic CD cost? And the LP version? Stupid vinyl collectors paying 20x the price for a 'dead format', bunch of fools with too much money blahblahblah

It goes both ways, arguing over it and quitting a forum because of bullshit arguments is silly. This forum has lost a lot of good posters over the years, and that's a damn shame. Too bad it was over petty squabbling, but ultimately it was their choice not to ignore / rise above it and continue to discuss the music we all love.

Similar story with the London record fairs these days. Everyone seems to price by Popsike now...

Seriously who the hell needs a "Symbolic" LP or CD? The story of Death ended right after "Spiritual healing" for every early Death Metal fan. Technical Death Metal???? Death Metal stands for brutality, outrageous Metal, evilness, ruthlessness and not for 1000 riffs and breaks in one song. The addition of that technical shit was responsible the most for the decline of real Death Metal.
