This is the email this ensiferum jerk-off sends me before the auction finishes:

"heya, I'm wondering if you can help me out. please tell me the absolute max you're going to bid on the purgatory. Don't worry, I'm very trustworthy.
I don't want to step on toes because I wouldn't have even been interested in the band without your posts.
you deserve first dibs just for that. I hope to talk to you soon.

Sounds like a poser to me...

See, this is exactly why that idea of a thread dedicated to this kind of shit wouldn't work.

And to top it off neither of you won it anyways...

Damn too bad Tom this is what it's like though sometimes people do morally bad things to others just to obtain that great item. Did you at least reply telling him your max before he outbid you? The would have at least been somewhat acceptable on his part. The way you wrote that though seems like he may have sent that emssage at the last possible moment not allowing you acceptable time to reply?

Oh, what the hell?

I thought that was someone else's account...

Either way, this is a perfect example of why...........

On another note, I don't think I've ever heard of someone buying something that's not really that outrageously rare without hearing it first.

It would be hilarious if he ended up hating the album...

Also did anyone end up seeing what that At War album that the same seller had listed went for?

I thought that I had been watching the auction, but apparently not?

I would kind of like to know what my copy is worth these days.

I told him my max was $150!!!!! I was at work and didn't get a chance to put in anymore bids. I would have bid $150 if I knew someone (ensiferum..battleangel..fag??) was going to try and outbid me after saying: "I don't want to step on toes.."
Either way, it's a 'dog's-act' to bid and bump the price up on me anyway knowing full well that I had already put the request in to let me try and win it. He wouldn't have even been interested if I hadn't brought it up! That's what happens these days with all these new thrash metal try-hards, they have to buy everything & anything. Oh well, my bad I guess.. that will teach me, but then I thought The Corroseum was a much better place than the everyday metal forum?! ...just goes to show you there is way too much scum out there in the world watching and you have to be really careful what you say & to whom!

I might have missed something here but did he actually promise you not to outbid you? Where did the discussion go after you told him your maximum bid?

I apologized and told him I'd sell him the copy once it arrived, but kurg doesn't want to go that route. It'd only be 5 dollars more by buying it from me instead of the ebaydealer:/

I would tell the seller to relist, like he asked, but I paid for both cds already and he hes going to be shipping them in a few hours. He's also leaving out of town for an ATG concert after he ships. So relisting might not even be possible.

I can get you plenty of references and ship it priority/registered. Im not trying to screw you over. I explained why I bid and have been courteous to you throughout all of this, so please cut that poser crap out. I'm willing to help. ttyl

A question from me as well: In what way, Tom, could you actually 'help him out' by telling him your absolute max bid without being outbid at the same time? I don't understand it, if he really wanted not to step on your toes like he said, why did he ask the last minutes about your max bid? Didn't that make you suspicious?

This should never happen again :P Although what Ensiferum2k7 did seemed suspicious and under the belt he did win the item...Tom you've turned completely evil haha you need to calm down it's not the end of the world I've been outbid on items I really want too. Some people are just willing to put more money in for them.

Ensiferum2k7 what you did originally did seem wrong but I commend you for trying to find a solution with Tom, He did really want the item.
