No.

And the vinyl pressing should actually be on Semaphore.

Sorry to repeat myself, but maybe those who know missed my questions...
Was the Num Skull - Ritually Abused officially released on CD in the eighties by Enigma or any other label? Is the skullsucker release an official re-release?

When was the first elektra pressing(=first US CD press) of "Ride The Lightning" released and how to recognize it? Was it in 1984 or in 1987?

And the same question for the "Master Of Puppets" elektra pressing, how to recognize it and is there a version from 1986?

1)I don't know about Num Skull(but i don't think Enigma released on cd);why don't you ask to the band http://www.myspace.com/numskullrituallyabused,they are still active!

2)The very US first press on cd of Ride the Lightining dates back to november 1984;
to be exact, there are three USA elektra first press, the first one with long box cover(Catalog number 9 60396-2);another one is Elektra usa `84, columbia house edition(Catalog E2 60396);the third is Elektra usa 84,
with music for nations matrix detail (catalog number is the same as
the first version,9 60396-2 but in this one you can also read on the cd "Produced by MFN"

3)Master of Puppets -- the first press is: Elektra usa 86, first press with long box cover, (catalog number 9 60439-2) ;note that
the master of puppets longbox comes as a re-seal able version or as a glued version, the flaps at each end of the box`s are different
to date only the master of puppets box has this variation, all other box`s are glued;another first press is Elektra usa 86, columbia record house edition (catalog number E2 60439);then there is Elektra usa 86, BMG record house edition, no barcode (catalog number D 134552);
also exists Elektra usa 86, with `"made in usa by PDO"` on disc and in matrix(catalog number 9 60439-2) and finally there is an odd press,
Elektra/Polygram usa/w.germany 86, export/import? copy (9 60439-2)
cd says made in west germany by polygram but cover says made in usa,
looks like the regular usa press.

Thanks for the detailed answer!

So this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0320445465

(which I also happen to have) is - to the contrary of what the seller says - not a pressing from 1984 because it's not in a long box, not mfn matrix and not columbia house. Correct? Or this version could have been taken out of a long box (never seen one)?

Help on my SAVAGE GRACE cd

How can I tell if my SAVAGE GRACE MASTER OF DISGUISE/THE DOMINATRESS is an original?

Its a Black dragon issue, has the multi-page booklet with the note from Christian Logue and I bought it YEARS ago.

Reading from the bottom of the cd the Matrix is BDCD001 MP0 02 then some weird symbol that looks kind of like a G in a half-circle and then a fainter 01.

IFPI LO31 is written in tiny typeface above the matrix.

Booklet has only the MASTER artwork on front and some lyrics inside with band photo in middle.

Any idea if its legit? And whats its worth?

Thanks in advance guys.

I can post scans if anyone thinks I should, btw.

I know what he says about the CD, he's not 100% sure whether it's 1984 or 1987, although he says it IS a first press. Just want to know if it's possible in light of what Nonseinormale65 said.

I looked at this great site prior to asking. The one which I bought (and is in the listing) looks exactly like the Columbia House 84 press (matrix!), with the exception, that it is not Columbia House, but a normal press :)

It's hard to say, probably this version has been pulled out from the long box(as the catalog number is the same),note that at that time people usually throw away the long box(and after a while the labels stopped producing them to save money),but if it's so I do not think it's worth buying it without the long box if you are a collector(btw, look at this auction http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0529600349,ok,it's very expensive but you can ask more details to the seller,as the catalog number and the matrix number).

From what's typed it looks legit to me, but this has also been covered here before.

Do a search and you should be able to find it.

The CD pictured below is a bootleg right?

Image

I'm asking you to confirm that it's a boot, because the seller (jacozappa) claims he bought it in a store when it came out new. Yeah right.

The original version has blue text on the CD?
