Oh shit I didn't even know they have five albums out. I've only heard the first two but they are magnificent.

Looking through this thread I can agree with the following bands: Gamma Ray, Helloween, Iron Maiden, Manowar, Blind Guardian, Black Sabbath, Rush, Judas Priest, Accept, Scorpions, Uriah Heep, Skyclad, Virgin Steele, and UFO.

I really wanted to mention Savatage, but I just can’t quite bring myself to include either Fight for the Rock or Streets, which leaves me with just Sirens, Power, Hall and Gutter Ballet. None of the newer albums really did much for me aside from a few songs on each.

I’m a Dio lover, but I can’t get more than 4 even if I include Sacred Heart (which is a dubious inclusion IMO).

Metal Church – first 4 easy, but after that not so much.

Lots of bands I’d probably agree with but I’m not familiar enough with their entire catalogs, like Budgie, Thin Lizzy, Riot, Aria, etc.
Yeah this is why I hesitated a little. Perhaps Terrible Certainty is good enough, perhaps not. Can't decide. Maybe on another day it is.
Ha! Terrible Certainty is my favorite Kreator album. However, they count as another near miss for me because I just don’t love the first 2.
LIZZY BORDEN (including the Live album!)
Oh, I don’t need to include the live album. I think all 6 of their full-length albums are brilliant.

And now I’ll add one of my favorites:
Not Fragile - Who Dares Wins, Lost in a Dream, 21st Century Ballroom, Time to Wonder, Scratch the Surface

"Hanging in the Balance" is a great one IMO, I like it more than "The Human Factor".

if one manages to ignore that horrendous cover.

I think the only band that I can come up with undisputedly is Running Wild.

1984-1992 period.

Why did Root ever stop playing awesome occult black metal at any point in their carreer? I haven't heard the last one where blackie is gone, perhaps that one is bad but the rest is full of uncompromising material of usually high quality.

Good question - and good choice!
But I must go with Savatage - Hall of the Mountain King / Gutter Ballet / Streets / Edge of Thorns.

It's actually bigger than four, but Master Of Reality -> Sabotage (Of the first six I like Paranoid the least, so I went for the records after that.)

Either that or Bathory - 'UTSoTBM' - 'Twilight of the Gods'.

Great call. Iron Maiden's first four and Judas Priest's 70s catalog are also close. I'm sure Pagan Altar are headed in that direction too.

Gates to purgatory - Branded and exiled - Under Jolly Roger - Port Royal - Death or glory - Blazon stone - Pile of skulls - Black hand inn. That's 8 in a row, so Running Wild are clearly the winners :D
