No, because it is from my perspective and really however else it may seem to come across I don't expect anyone else to see it that way, though it surprises me if no one does. Yes if it was released on tape first it's fine isn't it. Look the money issue is irrelevant to me, it's not going to change my view, it's not some revelation that exposes some fundamental flaw in my train of thought, vinyl IS the format of the 80's and regardless of whether bands would have released things on CD had it been viable the fact remains that most stuff came out on vinyl. And so the original presses are the closest you can get to the band in that sense, music transcends this money issue, the band weren't thinking about money 24/7 when they created what they did, and I'm not pretending to support every band I have a release by, I care about the music first and foremost. Then we also have the near equally important factors of the cover art, and the vinyl sleeve itself, the way it feels, the smell it has, the emotions that come with it, the memories that become attached to it, thinking about its history, knowing it was contemporary with the band.
Are you the tyrant, who cast them to the sea?
One day you'll be among the dead.
