at least you're honest! IF PEOPLE PAY IT THEN MORE POWER TO THEM AND YOU. music and money don't connect for me, never will. i sell cds to keep putting out more cds and my distro is very fairly priced and always will be because to me it's about moving product and keeping the metal music heart beating forward.

i don't go on many message boards at all. only came here cuz korgull had informed me there was conversation on me/old metal so i wanted to get a say in it.

no worries and no disrespect meant in this or any posts to you!
as i said IF PEOPLE PAY IT THEN MORE POWER TO THEM AND YOU!

cheers man

happy new year!
:)

i have nothing more to say to mike varney i know he doesn't like me because of all the wild dogs mess and matt doesn't help it much cuz he can't stand him and says so OFTEN, and that's fine! sometimes sadly you can't make a friend along the way! i never meant to offend the guy or upset his religious beliefs or anything, just wanted to put out some metal of bands i love!
i'll leave it at that! maybe when i'm in california i can talk with him
one on one and not have his lawyer faxing me all kinds of stuff that should be settled between two adults.

You see... this is the problem we have... too much assuming. MANILLA ROAD used to make a lot of money in the 80's being on Black Dragon.

Lets clear this up. What is "a lot of money"?

If it was enough to live off of back in the 80's... is that a lot?

Well I dont know

I do know that is 96 I talked to Mark about releasing some stuff and all he wanted to do at the time was Bitch about Black Dragon and how he had been screwed. Maybe his take on that has changed in the past 10 years who know.

In the mid 80's the min wage was about $5.50 an hour thats $11440 a year. I would say that in Kansas at the time if you were making $15000 a year you could live without working. Did he deliver a lp every year? as for touring I dont remember much from them other then localy

Hay who know's does it matter?

Well I'd have to ask him again what a lot of money meant when he told me that......

I was curious what your definition of a lot of money is though....

Well to me:

In 1986 if a (4 member)band received 100,000 for 1 record
That would be $25k each after taxes that would be say $20k

That would have been a LOT of money for a 16-17 year old kid to make for his first record and I can say VERY FEW got that. That would have been a HUGE contact for 1986

Plus you hand a kid $20k in 1986 it would be gone in 3 months and they would be broke.

On top of that if you lived in some place like NY you couldn't live on your own very long.

That's right! So you are assuming they DID make a lot of money!??

I couldn't imagine they would have made much at all...

There is no way that Black Dragon would have given them $100K to record back then... :?
