It is most likely a Columbia House Record Club pressing. No one is going to make a bootleg of such an easily available album. I had this problem with a Sabbat CD not long ago, and later found out that the DIDX matrix indicates it was pressed by Sony in Indiana, and they pressed most of the Columbia House discs. I have seen some Sepultura discs that are the same way.
Roadrunner's logo has always been red though...

Seeing the bidding history one can easily understand how badly this guy wanted the comp
Even if i had made a bid at 500$, i'm pretty sure he would have won...

Yeah, it was definitely a 2-man race. 3rd place @ $65 is about what i'd expect the album to go for. It's a very cool album and doesn't turn up all that often, but it's never commanded a 3-figure price tag in the past.

Wow, what a messed up bidder. Look at the times. The auction was still at $18 when he put in all his bids. What was he thinking?

Yeah, but both Columbia House and BMG cut a lot of corners when pressing their discs, maybe white was cheaper, who knows? CRC discs from the 80s/ early 90s never look exactly the same as their retail counterparts. they pinched pennies any way the could to be able to give those kind of deals. But look for a small "CRC" on the booklet or tray card somewhere, or an additional catalog number on the disc that begins in DIDY-******. It is definitely a licensed US pressing, if it has that matrix number.

That's probably the first time I've ever seen someone selling a
master tape on Ebay. Or anywhere. I wonder if that's the multi-tracker of the final mix? If it's the former, it would be really cool to own and make your own remix, seeing as how the original mix was a bit of a letdown..

50 US$ no. This album usually sells for 15-20 € not more. I saw 3 copies over the last two months 20 € is already high....but ok, 20 € are almots 50 US$ in moment

Fils- perhaps it's a regional difference. Here in the US that album has consistently brought around $50 for years. I could see it being cheaper in Europe since more copies are available over there.

This is not a multi-track tape. It’s the original stereo mix, mastered onto a Sony PCM-1630 Digital Audio Processor. The Output from the PCM-1630 was recorded on a Sony DMR-4000 Digital Master Recorder using Ampex 467 Digital Audio Tape.
