Does anyone have more details on the Mausoleum Classix bootlegs situation? I heard there are near identical bootlegs of those releases and as some albums started appearing in some webstores (German ones in particular) I would like to know what I am buying before I commit to a purchase. So anyone know more about those boots and how to distinguish them from the real thing?

Could someone help me with Railway? I was sure until now that first CD issues of their first three albums were done by High Vaultage in 1997. Never saw scans or e-bay auctions of these. What's that? Real old Roadrunner press? Another boot or mistake?
P.S: discography of this great band on musik sammler is horrible with many mistakes! If someone can fix it, please do it!

Of course it's not from 1984, it is a 2009 Metal Mind Re-issue with two bonus songs: 10. Break It Up (cd-bonus),11. Can't Stand It (cd-bonus)
2. Someone wrongly listed this album http://www.musik-sammler.de/media/3094 on the 1984 s/t release, but it's need to be here: http://www.musik-sammler.de/album/251528
3. This is also wrong, because it is a re-release from 2009

Bootleg! look your list of items, all are bootlegs.
Him have for sale many bootlegs.
First Railway albums only excist on High Vaultage .
This Internet infected of bootlegs, Also the shops of discs in Spain sell them.
you can find CDs in a shop out of print, and news and a low price.

Before someone asks - yes, I have bigger problems - but could anyone shed some light on the different 1980s pressings of Mercyful Fate - Melisssa? Which is considered the first, second, from which year they are, anything?

The first is quite surely the RR slimline press.
But then I really don't know (second, third etc.)

For example, my CD is RR 9898-2

By looking at other CDs from roadrunner, it seems like the first two digits of this number tell me the release year and it looks to be 1985. (RR 97XX is 1986, RR 96XX is 1987, ...) It is ecactly the same for the European incarnation RR 34 9898. So I am wondering what is the Cat. code of the slimline version. And the Megaforce pressings, don't know where to place them in time...

I have the RR european (made in Germany) press with matrixcode SONOPRESS C-4789 / RR 349898 A
Dunno which is the pressing year, I've bought it new in 1992 or so ...

I have also the Megaforce USA press, matrixcode is "Made by Discovery System an American Company 0PW0100"
Totally unknown year for this one too ^^ bought in the early eBay days (it has the lyrics compared to the RR press, that was the reason LOL)

This doesn't add more infos though, I admit

The "Don't brake the oath" slimline CD booklet has the complete catalogue of the slimline releases, along with their cat. codes :

At the booklet it states that Melissa slimline is RR34 9898
so they propably used the same code for their later press too.

if my cat number -> original release year theory is correct, then the slimline is also from 1985. Some slimlines are from 1984 though as I see on the photo

My copy was manufactured much later then the original release of the CD though, as I have some merchandise offers and it mentions Sadus - A Vision Of Misery

I think US Metal Records is the brainchild of Matt McCourt, the former leadsinger of the Wild Dogs. He did some repressings of the CD's formerly done by Old Metal Records but before this he reworked the cover so they looked really bad compared to the ones done by Old Metal Records. The content is identical.

He probably believes that he has the rights but since the first two albums were released by Shrapnel Records and the third one by Enigma, I guess it's still an open question.

Some time ago I ordered a CD at US Metal Records but for some reason got the wrong one. When tried to replace it, I got Dr. Mastermind as Old Metal Records pressing.

However, the CD's I purchased there were silver pressed but all had a very poor layout. At Musiksammler it says that the US Metal Records Re-Release of "Man's Best Friend" is a CD-R.

P.S.: There are different reissues. The first ones I came across came from Old Metal Records, later ones came from US Metal Records and then an Italian label named Northwind Records released the first three albums on CD including Bonus Tracks. Northwind Records is a legal label (Thunderstorm etc.) but depending on where they got the "license" from I am not too sure about it if these reissues are legit. At least they are well done compared to the ones before.

Yes, I am reading about Nortwhind Records on some italian forums. It seems it does not exist anymore and those 3 Wild Dogs reissues, announced in 2004 and out (in 3 different steps) in 2007 (just before the complete disappearing of the label) seem to sound really good and have a lot of bonus tracks. Never seen in any music shop here in Italy, probably it's easy to find them on some webstore but I haven't ever seen them physically.

About US Metal: I just tried to send an email to order the Mayhem CD.
I received an error message. The last update of the website is from 2004.
No info about the Mayhem "Burned alive Demos": no cover, nothing. Even at CD Baby they do not have it. You can find it on a tons of blog but it seems there is no trace at US Metal or CD Baby.

What about the following CD:
-Dr. Mastermind: S/T
-Dr. Mastermind: "History of Evil Genius"
-Evil Genius: "Dr. Mastermind must die"
-Wild Dogs: "Live in San Francisco 1982"

CD Baby says some are CDR (Live in SF), some real CD but I need confirm.
