I just came back from the MOTÖRHEAD-gig in Vorst Nationaal (Brussels). At first I didn't want to go, because the venue is too big (I like smaller, cosier places like the Ancienne Belgique for popular bands, also for the sound), and the ticket price was way too high (40 €). But thanks to my good friend Steven (drummer from support act Spoil Engine), who had put me on their guestlist, I had the chance to get in for free!! So off I went to Brussels!!!
Another great gig from Motörhead, although Lemmy was having some throat problems. Some songs I hadn't seen them playing for years : "Another Perfect Day", "Mean Machine", "Bomber" and "Iron Fist". This band never bores me.

I like Vorst. I saw Tool there a few years ago (yahyah, Tool, not very metal but their latest album has been on my playlist since it was released) and the sound was great. Unfortunately the Motorhead ticket prices are too high for me to afford at the moment...I've never seen them in a venue, only open-air.

I saw them this week in Paris, it was far from the best MOTORHEAD gig I've attempted. The sound was awful and much too loud (I've been half deaf for two days  ) and the set-list was exactlty the same as on their 2 last tours(except for 2 songs if my memories are good).

Well, didn't Motorhead hold the record for the loudest band at one point?

My gig-attendance in the last year has been really low, nothing erally ineresting, and sometimes it's too much hassle to see some fuckin mediocre band and pay for over-priced shitty beer and see a bunch of idiot 'metalheads' muck around, besides Turku is more a punk/hardcore place when it comes to gigs here.

Well went to Kouvola last weeken with Jari Mikko and Antti to see Manilla Road, Helvetets Port, Spiritus Mortis and Memory Garden. MR were great, kind of surreal, the vocals were spot on, pretty small venue, it was the Metal Warning fest by the way, was quite wasted by the end of the night that's the problem with too many bands playing; evben though it was MR playing attention tends to wander after a while, especially when I couldn't see the stage too well. I really really enjoyed Helvetets Port, I don't think the LP is too amazing at all but live everything just clicked perfectly, I enjoyed it more than MR to be honest.

My last gig was Absu/Razor of Occam (which is hazy to say the least) and my next will be Ignivomous/Grave Miasma/Cruciamentum here in Dublin followed by Nocturnal Graves/Dead Congregation + more in London the next day. Unfortunately no killer trad Metal gigs planned until late December.
