such a mixed record: near 10 out of 10, 70ies inspired (hard) rock masterpieces VS. alternative rock/metal shit songs (the opener even sports "rapping" in the mid section, totally ruins an otherwise okay song)

I think this is the fourth band with this name I have in my collection - two from the US, one from Russia, one from Spain - and there are some more, as listed in the Metal archives...
This Legion is from NJ and the CD was self-released in 2003, and then recently re-released by some label as well... a really enjoyable cd!

I'm inching towards the same opinion. But I haven't given it enough attention the last few weeks. Some of the songs are on the same level as the previous releases, but it isn't as consistent as those.
