Hey Hell(m)boy,

Just listening to 'Sacrifice-Apocalypse Inside' (inspired by Noisenik  ) and I reckon there's a slight touch of techno-thrash here too?
Some interesting dis-jointed music going on whilst maintaining a
wholesome 'technothrash' style throughout, particularily in sound/production & the vocals!??! Damn, I love Canuck bands!

Your thoughts?

Yeah, I cannot help but love 'em too. Rgdng Apocalypse Inside I'd say trend influenced thrash bands to sound a bit more slicker (BA-ish) thus force them to practice more which was evident on most of recordings. Sacrifice were no exception to that rule. Except that their last effort was a bit too late. Today they would be exceptional with such a record, me thinks.

Yeah, I was thinking the same, 1993 was when all the grunge-alt thing was big & this album would just not have sounded right.

Probably explains poor sales & why it's worth $5 now, bloody bargain if you ask me!

Also, Noisenik, if you havent already heard it you must get 'Merciless Death-Evil In The Night' (mentioned a few times on this forum) ...absolutely fucking great Euro-sounding thrash!

Merciless Death are Exumer re-born in hell!

Urgh! I will but the list is getting longer than 70-year old anaconda. Actually I planned to buy a vinyl but ... same reason.

Sacrifice were already doing something a bit different by 'Soldiers of Misfortune' era. I haven't heard their last album, but I'll give it a go if I can find it.

Just watched one sell for $4 on ebay! Do yourself a favour & seek it out, it's great! I think the production is better than 'Soldiers...' but songs of equal greatness...

Too late for who ? Not sounded right to who ? All the stupid queers who jumped on the Seattle/Faith No More etc.. bandwagon ? -which as you know was pretty much 90% of so-called "Metalheads" down here in this clueless country...

EDIT :Sorry ,I 'm still bitter about a lot of the faggotry I witnessed in the Oz scene back in the 90's...

It always amazes me how americans just switch music tastes when the tides change. I listen and really enjoy several Seattle bands (like Sanctuary! haha okay, kidding, I mean I like some of the so-called 'grunge') and I particularily like Faith No More regardless of how many awful bands they gave an excuse to exist, and that never felt like a reason I had to stop listening to Heavy Metal. I seriously think this is an american trait most of all.

So, don't blame more modern music for 'killing Heavy Metal', blame fickle listeners who just go from bandwagon to bandwagon.

I'm listening to the last Sacrifice. Jesus, okay, I draw the line here, no more getting new stuff. Time to absorb and categorize. Expect a revamped 'grand technothrash band list' and its little brother 'the technical bands that could' soon.

I meant "too late" for themselves as a band. When AI come out even Death Metal was almost out of schedule, with Black Metal and Goteborg starting to modify the trends. I remember I asked friend Motah if these are Japanese back in spring of 1994 and was surprised when he responded with "the ones who released Torment In Fire".

Switching music tastes are traits of the trendy and not exclusive to Americans, also I don't like this use of "yanks" I am not from new england nor do my roots lay in the northern united states so yeah this term pisses me off as much as these people jumping on the grunge bandwagon piss you off, I wasn't old enough then to say I saw people buying into this grunge shit but I will say alot of europeans like to blame americans for people being trendy fucks in their countries and you can't blame americans for idiots in your own countries buying into american trends.

Well, America has some aggressive policies when it comes to exporting its products, including what is called "cultural goods".
But well, I have to admit that what was done here in France in the 50's and 60's (and later) to protect our own culture most often came to support local crap instead of good foreign artists. That's especially true with music... Because of some law that forces the radios to play at least 50% or so of french-speaking music, we have tons of r'n'b and pop crap instead of good rock'n'roll/whatever...
Gott ist tot.

@ Fender Medium -Settle down ,mate -firstly I'm not from Europe (Hint:Aussie is not short Austrian)
secondly - my whole point was that my own countrymen & women are stupid for blindly following trends of American popular culture. Also ,whilst the term Yank might be a regional thing in the States , it's just a nickname many citizens of Commonwealth countries use for Americans in general ,that we inherited from the British and stems from the War of Independence as opposed to the Civil War , and became a popular term -mainly one of begrudging affection- for American troops stationed in the UK & Australia during WW2 and has stuck ever since ,it's not intended as an insult -It's not comparable with calling people "niggers" or a "spics" or stuff like that. I was not attempting to be anti-American or blaming Americans for anything or implying that Americans invented stupidity or the herd mentality -they are of course universal human failings.

funny indeed! It could also be that since slsk is indeed p2p software, ppl are inventing new ways when they have nothing to share. Flaming Anger reunion would be fine if they'd stick to old sound and continue where they stopped.
