Hmm i find it hard to choose which one i like more since both are such killer albums. Mythical & Magical in other hand includes my favorite Pagan Altar song "Flight Of The Witch Queen". Got to love that celtic epicness of it's intro!St. Erben wrote:Yea, wtf, guess I was tired or something, as this was even dealt with on the first page of the thread. Well, no matter what year, it's one Hell of an album of course. But personally I like "Lords of Hypocrisy" even more I think.the erlking wrote:Pagan Altar's Mythical & Magical came at the end of 2006, right?
So far it could be even the best metal album of this decade for me.

A few months ago I'd go for M&M. Right now however, I'd go with LoH again... That just shows how great these album are, my choice almost changes by the listen.the erlking wrote:Hmm i find it hard to choose which one i like more since both are such killer albums. SACRED OATH - Darkness Visible CD: MUCH better than i expected it and imo a class higher than their "A Crystal Vision" album which was released back in the 80s. The Maidenesque guitarwork is excellent and the vocals (which were kinda hard to ''digest'' in their debut) are obviously improved. Opening track "Words upon the stone" is definitely the best track i've heard in a new US metal release the last couple of years. And, at last, a 2007 album i can recommend! Well done guys!

It seems like he's bashing the unholy gem of ages "In The Sign Of Evil EP" also.

The Final Sign of Evil is awesome but I need to point out that the official release is supposed to have a different sound than the promo and the promo is the raw sodom that we all know.
"After all the promo just should feature three shortened clips (without the songs we're still working on), but the label released the complete album. Tom and me heard it today and we've been really pissed off. It has lost its complete transparency and sounds like... I don't know. Anyway: This one won't be the one, that will be released in September/October. There will be a new master, so the promo may be one day a real rarity, because it will be completely different to the official release. "

The Assasins of War EP from Hirax is great. Horrorhammer by Abscess has a few good songs, but is sadly mediocre. The new Master album was kind of disappointing. At first it sounded like old Master, but then, after a few tracks some "groove" started to appear and it was ruined. SSS debut is good too. Oh, and Goatlord's Last Sodomy Of Mary RULES!!!!
And I know they're from 2006 but Funerot's debut LP and Machetazo's Ultratumba are some of the best albums in a decade.

Well, apart from Serj Tankian's new record which is out of competition (jokin'),my top 2007 releases (in no order whatsoever) would have to be...
Sacred Oath
Atlantean Kodex
Symphony X
Dominici
Katagory V
Faith Factor
Lizzy Borden
Thought Chamber
Scariot
Starcastle
Dead Soul Tribe
Seventh Calling
Anubis Gate
Circus Maximus
Icarus Witch
Wiszdom Stone
Damn, reading this makes me look like a prog freak but trust me,I'm a US power metal guy! If I missed any great 2007 US metal releases, please remind me so! Oh,and I didn't like the new Steel Assassin that much...is there something wrong with me doc?

I heard the ''new'' Gamma Ray on Friday evening along with some friends. While listening to it, we started playing a game trying to find how many songs has Hansen stolen on this album and guess what, we lost the counting after a while. It was fun. Rating: 3/10
