Below is a very old picture of the music room... well a part of it anyway: there's more LP shelves not shown on that picture, more boxes of 7"s, and a whole mess of CDs, tapes, boxes of zines, the stereo, etc. It's set up differently nowadays, and I'm moving in a new place soon anyway so it's subject to change again.

That chair looks fucking uncomfortable tho'!
Couldn't imagine you'd be able to sit on that for too long??

That chait is actually REALLY comfortable, you'd be surprised. I stole it from some yuppie bar years ago.

I only have a pretty old picture
But you get the idea. As time goes by I try to get plastic sleeves for all albums, and keep the records and inserts outside of the actual covers, so they slide in from the top, some people put them in sideways, but that just causes a whole world of trouble when trying to get them back on the shelves. Most my records are stored in shelves like these, then I have a different one on the opposite wall, and the worst crap is stored in a cupboard. I'll try post some newer pictures one day, cos I'm pretty happy with what I've done with my room;)

But is it healthy to store vinyls like a canned fish? Shouldn't there be more space? Ringwear, etc. ... ?

Well these days I have them slightly less tightly packed, I make sure they're not really pressing against each other too much so I don't see any problem with it. And everything has been fine so I'm not about to get all fiddly with it

I went out and bought one of those Expedit shelves from Ikea yesterday. Let's see how it works...

Just make sure you build it properly or it will fall apart...

Haha are you speaking from experience mate? Hard to go wrong there T, only requires on tool to build (2 if you count the builder!)
Actually drafted up a working drawing to build some boxes to go in my Expedit unit, the ones Ikea make are too deep so I'm building them half the height of the LP sleeve to make flipping through easier...
