I just remembered this topic and I was looking through Ohio comps for someone and I figured it would be cool to upload my favorite tracks from the Cleveland Metal comps (some more obscure then others)

(w/ Kenny from PURGATORY on drums...it kicks the shit out of the original!)
13 - Nightcrawler - Soldier In Time 2004 (Live In The Basement, 2004).mp3 of size 5.691 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/530dd5/

(AMAZING guitar, one of my favorites)
10. SORCERER - Bloodline.mp3 of size 8.497 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/614d3e/

(its a crime that they never released anything else. The drummer is amazing and there are so many parts of this song that will be stuck in your head. "Pick up your weapons, if you value your lives!")
03 - Merri Hoax - The Terrorists.mp3 of size 5.789 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/442e2b/

One of the most obscure Cleveland bands. KILLER track. They have 3 unreleased demos that are good, too.
04 - Gutwrench - Blood And Guts.mp3 of size 6.516 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/561e6d/

One of my favorite Mistreater tracks. Also one of thier heaviest, and the production is the best ive heard from them!
05 - Mistreater - Wizard Star.mp3 of size 7.148 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/d76791/

A really obscure demo band that was only half serious. Really fun
04 - The Bastard Squad - Sure Thing.mp3 of size 1.277 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/1aeeb0/

I have 2 songs from these guys...and thats it. Aside from the lineup and some concert dates I know NOTHING...
08 - Raging Grace - White Evil.mp3 of size 6.671 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/569a15/

Centurion's last recording before they broke up. They released a song 1 year later but it was released after they had disbanded, and the vocals were turned all the way down. However, this is the heaviest song they ever did....AWESOME track...
08 - Centurion - Peacefully.mp3 of size 4.811 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/1d6490/

Obscure demo band with Paul from Antithesis. Only had a few demo tapes, despite being fucking amazing...
07 - Roadie's Nightmare - Traitor.mp3 of size 5.233 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/1dedc8/

The same band as the two2 7"s. One of my favorite tracks from them. They later got a new bassist "Sam", moved to LA, changed thier name, and were never heard from again.
05. JAGGED EDGE - Eyes Of Fire.mp3 of size 4.626 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/5df276/

This isnt the version from Cleveland Metal (1983). This is the version from thier original demo tape, remastered by Bill Peters in 2003, and released on one of the many Limited Edition Auburn Records samplers.
15 - Black Death - Taken By Force (1982 Demo).mp3 of size 4.117 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/cdd8ba/

post-Severe Warning...amazing song
01 - Nitefall - Die For Destiny.mp3 of size 5.177 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/4c03b1/

One i havent listened to in a while. So fucking awesome, and the soloing is amazing!
12 - Hatrix - Attitudes.mp3 of size 4.877 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/216b9e/

Their only song recorded with Byron Nemeth.
14 - Mercury - Echoes In The Night.mp3 of size 4.768 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/a2138b/

Pat from MYSTIK's early band. This version sounds a lot better then the one from thier demo tape.
07 - Sinister - Breathe Deep And Die.mp3 of size 3.534 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/2bc391/

Andy Boyer's first band (later in PURGATORY, REBELLIOUS ANGEL, etc). Formerly known as Violent Winds.
03 - Battery - Mercury.mp3 of size 3.805 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/a2137f/

AMAZING band...finally releasing thier debut in 2008! Ill upload another Auburn sampler track later on (Fate Worse Then Death live)....
03 Chemikill (Ohio) - Deadline.mp3 of size 4.813 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/da0481/

One the bands that I promote like crazy (one of my favorite US demo bands ever).
09 Terror (Ohio) - Pain and suffering.mp3 of size 3.719 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/da8c94/

Really fucking obscure band. They do have some demos, rehearals, etc, but nothing was ever released except for the "Soul Assault" cassette EP.
07 Deus Vult (Ohio) - Twilight\'s last gleaming.mp3 of size 5.018 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/192be7/

Another band with Andy Boyer. The band isnt nearly as experienced as Purgatory or Battery, but Andy's amazing voice and medieval lyrics make this track pretty fucking awesome.
17 Rebellous Angel (Ohio) - Stand up and fight.mp3 of size 6.307 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/3e2e47/

Early incarnation of RITUAL with the amazing John Marshall on vocals. R.I.P.
10 Torment (Ohio) - Epilogue.mp3 of size 5.299 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/08acea/

Most of you know that band, but I couldnt help but include this. :D
12 Attaxe (Ohio) - Pedal to the metal.mp3 of size 3.936 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/bfb17e/

Some awesome death metal from 1992. Recorded live at Flash's and released on a compilation tape with other bands from that night.
01 - Blessed Sickness - Massacre Of The Holy.mp3 of size 2.86 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/7d72da/

Not a Cleveland comp, but one of my favorite Cleveland demo tracks, so I had to include it.
metal massacre xi - 10-nightcrawler_eternal call.mp3 of size 8.095 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/7aad60/

One of my favorite demo bands. Released 1 comp song, some demos, a split, and disbanded. The bassist is one of the coolest guys ever...
02 - Hunger For Your Life.mp3 of size 3.311 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/c79570/

From which samplers were these taken? It would be cool to add the Auburn comps to the Auburn discog-page if you think you can help out w/ info.

Also, any chance you could just make one or 2 large zip files of all of these tracks?

I can get scans, info and everything for a bunch of stuff. Some of the comps above were Auburn, and some were Underground Express and some were independent.

I can also get scans of the Auburn catalog, with lots of merch listed that Ive never seen. I also can get the original cassettes of Get Tough and Maximum Destruction (although that one will cost a lot).

Some Auburn items not listed on the page are...

Scans and crap can be done soon. I have to go now, ill type more later,

BoC: could you please post the Manimals tracks from that Best Buy sampler sometime? I like their 'blood is the harvest' mini LP but I've only heard 2 of their more recent songs.

No problem!

What did you guys think of the other comp tracks? Im going to scan the samplers and type out all the info probably on sunday. 2 of the samplers were recorded live, and I have the flyers from those shows I can upload if anyone in interested.
The samplers dont have serial numbers, but all of the cassettes have different numbers then the LPs. Dan, Ill try to get the Breaker and Destructor numbers for your Auburn page.

What would really be insane is if someone made an UNDERGROUND EXPRESS page. They were the REALLY fucking obscure label that released "Convicted To The Avant garde", "Distant Thunder", and demos from NITEFALL, SEVERE WARNING, MUTANT SOLDIER, SACRED HEART, and many more that I dont even know. Finding all of those tapes would be amazing, but probably take years. The highest Underground Express serial number I know is Distant Thunder, UE010. Before that is the Nitefall tape, the MS/SW split, the MS demo, "Convicted", and a whole bunch that I dont know.

I do have an Underground Express shirt that has a bunch of logos on the back...including...

Severe Warning
Mutant Soldier
Sacred Heart
Outta The Blue (theyre thanked in the Hatrix CD booklet, thats the only time Ive heard of them)
Fiend 13
A.K.A.
Roadies Nightmare
Tilt
Shotgun
Infa-Red (I have an article about them from the Iron Planet, no useful info though, just a review of a live show)

Those, plus the comps and Nitefall would make 14 tapes. I still havent seen/heard most of them, though...
If anything, any non-homemade demos from lesser-known Distant Thunder bands would have been on UE, but there are only a few that I know of that actually exist...

Haven't had a chance to check out the cleveland tracks yet; hopefully I'll have some time this weekend.
The manimals tracks were decent; the newer ones are alot slower than the EP tracks, but still fairly catchy.

I can upload some from the full-length if you want. Thier best recent track is "Super-Fist" from the album, great fucking song! They also have a re-recording of Burn Witch Burn and a bunch of other stuff. I can probably upload the stuff tommorow or Sunday afternoon (I have to leave for work in a matter of minutes and wont be back until late).

I have those two...I don't remember how Outta The Blue sounded like, it wasn't metal though...

Infra-red is crap. Lame poser hard rock stuff, a waste of time.

Let me know if you need an upload of Outta The Blue.

Ok, here's a rar with the Brigada Metálica tracks from the Uruguayan bands Sadica and Paddock. I also have the Graf Spee tracks but didn't include them since they've already been posted before. If anyone has the missing tracks (from Alvacast and Macbeth) I'll appreciate an upload.

Just uploading a measly 2-song rar file felt like a waste of time, so here's a full mix-CDR worth of utterly obscure Swedish Metal taken from local compilations, reups of songs previously posted here (IQ ZERO's incredible "Murderer"!, the cult HYDRA track, the godly IRONSIDE, the charm of GREENSLEEVES etc..) plus some new goodies (AXEWITCH's still unreleased 1st recordings, the unique and ultra-primitive WIZ, the lead-heavy INTERACTION, the epic BLACKBIRD) all must hears for true fans of old, primitive Heavy Metal.

Catching up on posting comments today...
Like several of the cleveland comp cuts, Raging Grace stands out. The Manimals tracks are also good but not as strong as their original EP cuts (but not disappointing either, which I was afraid of).
