But how can an album that was barely produced at all be overproduced?!? Into the Night was pretty much just recorded, pressed and released. The record was not even mastered at all!
Uncompromising war on metallic modernism under the dictatorship of The Corroseum.

I see a lot of Swedish Metal (not necessarily modern) that's hyped to hell based solely on rarity alone. More often then not it's bordering on AOR or as you put it so well is very "mediocre". A lot of singles come to mind. I can’t personally say that the Swedish scene is nearly close to one of my favourites.mordred wrote:That's not a mentality I think I have ever encountered. There is a fistful of great or promising underground metal bands in Sweden today, but it certainly doesn't make up for all the crap and mediocrity. in no way is Sweden any sort of sanctuary for real metal, and I don't believe anyone is making it out to be either.Avenger wrote:However, I don't understand this whole "if it's Metal and it's Swedish, it's awesome" mentality...
Man, Olof sounds like he's climbing Mount Everest on the run
another one that points it out, thank u Iordanstormspell wrote:Man, Olof sounds like he's climbing Mount Everest on the run
Well I guess that same happens with pretty much every scene. I don't consider the swedish scene as rich as let's say US or Germany but I do like plenty of swedish singles. Maybe they are mediocre to some but then again I never liked Brick Mistress and consider it average at best. It's just tastes.Avenger wrote:I see a lot of Swedish Metal (not necessarily modern) that's hyped to hell based solely on rarity alone. Still there are "new" bands worth listening, not all of them but oh well...and true dat on the scandinavian death metal, i noticed it last year....bottom line i dont care if the band is new as long as its cool sounding, same way as i dont care how "obscure n underground" is a band from the 80s but has a crappy sound, i wont like it....The Sentinel wrote:

I'm not a fan of these new bands either, being it Cauldron or something else. I like it while having some drinks in a bar but I can't enjoy it while listening to it with headphones. I can't take these new thrash bands serious either. I bought a Merciless Death LP 2 years ago and regret buying it. I just can't listen to it. It's all a terrible hype these days. Next in line: old Scandinavian death metal.
and speaking of goat horn, everyone should check out FLYING FORTRESS, the new band of the drummer and guitar player from goat horn. killer down-n-dirty metal for fans of the rods and anvil.jared wrote:cauldron is great.
