I was talking more in the "US Metal" style.
Other than Omen and Warlord, I don't really see otherwise.

That's probably the topic of a completely different thread, but I really don't see anything in common between Warlord and Omen to begin with (besides that they're both from the US and they play Heavy Metal). So although I've been trained since my Heavy Metal infancy to know what US metal is, I don't really "know", if I were to look at it critically. Is Cirith Ungol "US metal"? No? Too 70's? How about Fates Warning? Too Iron Maidenish?
I guess that's a new topic to make. If you want to carry the dialogue, Avenger, make it

Good idea,
I'll think about doing just that.

Yes, let us know! I really like this idea, though my dad doesn't listen to any music (strange, no?) However, I could see making something like this for my mom. After all, she got me started by playing her AC/DC and Led Zeppelin records for me as a child.
Killer cover, BTW!

Yes this would be interesting to know - what his reaction is. I couldn't imagine doing something like this for my dad - he hates Metal, though he got me into music in the first place and always encouraged me so great kudos for that! But he likes what he likes, I like what I like. Anyway, he says Metal is for sick people so that's it in a nutshell.

I would make the tape something like this myself
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Rainbow - Stargazer
Judas Priest - Exciter
Pentagram - Ask no More
Iron Maiden - Phantom of the Opera
Venom - Black Metal
Manowar - Revelation (Death's Angel)
Manilla Road - The Riddle Master
Mercyful Fate - Come to the Sabbath
Cirith Ungol - King of the Dead
Saint Vitus - Burial at Sea
Metal Church - Beyond the Black
Candlemass - Demon's Gate

(i think) it was wolf's wife that wrote all lyrics. And, i would vote for Neon Nights anyday
