NP: Halloween - Don't Metal With Evil

The problem with this band is that they get lumped in the horror metal niche but when I want to listen to something haunting, atmospheric and horror film-ish metal I just can't get the kicks from this. This is fucking adrenaline shot to heart! Wild and good heavy metal to drink beer with but doesn't really work if I'm in a mood for Black Hole, old Death SS etc. Now if I just take it as a good heavy metal record with a halloweenish image and don't expect anything else it's maybe one of the best records from US.

indeed a great US metal record, but i guess its consider horror metal because of their image and their live shows, not exactly its music, which certainly kicks ass

Halloween indeed does kick ass! Victims of the Night and No One Gets Out are great albums too. In fact, Victims of the Night is my favorite.

I agree they shouldn't be put in the horror metal niche.

Tales of Medusa new demo

this is surprisingly good. Rather weak opener & the vocals still could be better but it's way better than the debut LP. Also the title track is total WFG worship, so awesome...
