I know posting Jim's auctions in this thread is almost like cheating, but I can't believe Shanghai is already up to $26. I got that in a lot of records on eBay and only spent about $1-2 for each record in the lot. I never thought much of it beyond the cover. Guess I'll have to dig it out again and give it a listen.

There are NOT many USA PRIVATE METAL releases on vinyl
That are NOT worth $25-30 min. (LP, EP, 12") there are a few 45's

I am having a hard time at the moment thinking of any.

That's true. I wasn't saying it was a crazy price, just that I got lucky and didn't even realize what I had. :)

One thing that's pretty crazy is the Thruster single which is still readily available from the band themselves signed for some ridiculously low price. But of course there'd be no way I'd have known that if they didn't post here.

ANY single with a track called "Country Blues" shouldn't have more than a 1-digit price tag on it. A call to order, please!

Anyways,

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... :IT&ih=023

I wanted it so bad, especially because it's one of the last two disc's I needed to complete my SPV MID PRICE SERIE collection.

But fuck paying that price...

Last Tyrant 7" I saw on ebay (maybe 6 months ago) closed at over $800. Glad it's not on my wantlist (and no, I don't already own it)

I could never understand how vinyl collectors can afford to buy rare albums at $300+ a piece...
