Well, it was OK, Exumer really sucked, and I was expecting more from Living Death and Abattoir (good show - bad sound). Rigor Mortis - great, but unfortunately it was too fucking hot in the hall when they played ... Militia - the best band at KIT 12 for me - but again with 1 disadvantage - they played only 5 (or maybe 6) songs ... I talked to Mike after that and he said that they had lots of technical problems ... and he also said that Rodney Dunsmore has 6 (six!!) copies of The Sybling MLP at home
And the worst thing: Some asshole stole friends' bag on the saturday night at the very end of the metal market, with 500+ euros, mobile phone, camera and 2 KIT 13 tickets ... please let me know if anyone found that bag!

I had a good time even though that hall was so bloody HOT!!!
Exxplorer were so boring it was untrue.
Abbatoir was okay but something never clicked for me.
Living Death massive disappointment. I left theri set after four songs to go and cool off. From what I gather the rest of the set did not improve much.
Zouille felt like a melodic rock project band but it was not all bad. The guitarist just wanted to shred the whole time!
Cloven Hoof - excellent
Procession - again very good. This is how I like my doom.
Gates of Sloumber - I really like their records but live it felt like the power was missing.
Tyrant - very good.
Militia - how insane is Mike Soliz' voice??? I wondered if he would still be able to hit the high notes but my doubts were blown away.
Rigor Mortis - maybe my favourite. Seemed really savage thrash to me
Armored Saint - was okay. They have never been my favourite band though.
NWOBHM was good fun although at some points I wondered if it was over as there were large gaps between songs. I'M RUNNING FREE YEAH!!!!!
I need to find somewhere else next year that serves some decent food. There are only so many schnitzel in a bread roll I can eat

Nice meeting you guys there. And the hall was hot, but it was just as bad two years ago.
Highlights for me were
Atlantean Kodex - their songs are so great
Tyrant - was a little bit surprised at how well they did. Really good.
Procession - great doom and excellent vocals, deserve a lot of credit
Gates of Slumber - Competent and of course one of my fave bands
The NWOBHM tribute - was great fun, though a bit of organizing was missing.
Disappointments
Living Death - wrong choice of songs, not the best of performances
I missed Cloven Hoof. How the hell did that happen?

Highlights for me were Picture, Abbatoir and the NWOBHM show. Biggest disappointment was Living Death. I don't know about Zouille... it sounded amazing when they did the Sortilège songs. Had they only done that they would have owned the place, but there was too much else going on there.
Bit of a letdown was that I was so busy browsing records when Cloven Hoof played so I couldn't fully enjoy it. It sounded really fucking good. Best song of the whole festival for me was when Russ North and Lee Payne played "Gates of Gehennah" at the NWOBHM show. I shat my pants. Russ North was the best singer of the whole festival too.

+++ The Jameson Raid & Bleak House songs during the nwobhm show. I knew Terry Dark was going to make an appearance, but had no idea that Graham Shaw would as well. Absolutely mind blowing! And they played half of "War of the Ring" too...
++ Abattoir, Cloven Hoof, Ruthless - all great performances.
+ Gates of Slumber - I love "The Jury", but other than that the set list was a bit disappointing. Also a bit bummed that they went on earlier than advertised, so I missed the two first songs.
+ Tyrant - great songs, but Glen's voice was a bit hoarse. The lower register was fine, but the higher notes were not.
Exumer & Exxplorer were rather straightforward shows. I do have a rather cool video from the Exumer show, highlighting the circle pit.
Biggest disappointment was Living Death. I had expected different songs, and wasn't very impressed by the stage performance either.

In that case, I'm even more grateful you decided
not to pass out in my tent.
I'm sorry for those who couldn't find the camp. Party tent just wouldn't fit in this year's car. And cheers to those I met!

Well, i think that as a whole i enjoyed it more this year. From what i can remember right now:
CLOVEN HOOF - The first band of the festival that i seriously saw. Kicked some ass this time too. Amazing playlist and Russ North's voice is out of this world. I really can't decide whether he or Harry "The Tyrant" is more godly. Those high-pitched screams at "The gates of Gehenna" were utterly mindblowing.
RUTHLESS - Great and very powerful. I missed "The fever" though.
EXUMER - I saw the last three songs. Just OK.
EXXPLORER - Boring, boring, boring. They didn't have neither the passion nor the energy to play a song like "Run for tomorrow" the way it should be played.
TYRANT - Sorry fellas, but i can't be objective here coz TYRANT are something more than a great band to me and they have a really special place in my heart. Their show was almost a religious experience for me. Glen May is the man. The sound of the drums and the starting riff at the beginning of their closing track "War" will never ever be forgotten.
ABATTOIR - Cool! I loved their guitar sound and the bestial playing of their drummer.
LIZZY BORDEN - We kinda missed the whole show due to our first long corroseum meeting. I think i saw the last three songs or so. They probably gave an impressive show.
Day 2:
MILITIA - Mike Soliz is an amazing frontman. We heard plenty of those insanely high-pitched screams. Greatest moment: the closing "Metal Axe" which is also their best track imho.
RIGOR MORTIS - Fuckin' brutal! Insane and savage Texas thrash metal with the chainsaw guitar of Mike Scaccia. Unbelievable playlist as well. Best thrash metal band of the festival.
LIVING DEATH - Saw about 15 minutes of their show, Dan will tell you more about them i suppose.
ZOUILLE - Very disappointed. Begun quite well with "D'ailleurs" and "Gladiateur" but after that it was just getting more and more boring. Too many melodic songs that were certainly more hard rock than metal and quite a few ballads, i don't know they didn't seem to fit with the other bands of the festival. I was wondering why Zouille didn't sing as high as he would, was it that he didn't want to do so or was it because he actually couldn't? On "Sortilege" he didn't sound not even half as good as the original.
PICTURE - Didn't see them
NWOBHM ANNIVERSARY - I was quite doubtful in the beginning, but in the end it turned out being a great show. Lots of fun and covers of many classic tracks. They even played "War of the rings"!
ARMORED SAINT - Not as great as they were 10 years ago in Greece, however they a gave a pretty cool show that tended to be a bit boring in the mid part. Fantastic opening with "Reign of fire" and "March of the saint" and equally great closing with "Can u deliver" and "Madhouse". They could have played "Mutiny on the world" or "Burning question" instead of "Creepy feelings" for example, too much to ask for i guess?
And now I start counting the days for SATAN'S HOST.

Yep, in the beginning, before announcing any of the singers. No vocals, just the melody (although out of tune singing could be heard from yours truly), as part of the intro.
