 It would fit 'the nightsblood rule'. Seriously though, I might have bid on this copy but my internet connection was down most of the weekend, and I've had enough problems with ebay in the last few days (mentioned above) that I don't care to bid on anything at the moment, even if it looks like a decent buy.

I think most folks realized the thousand dollar copies (sold a few years ago) went for too much, so I'm not surprised copies had come down to the $700-750 range. < $500 for this copy looks like a good buy, but hell, maybe it's not trendy enough anymore and collectors have moved on to a new 'flavor of the month'

Some may attribute the price drop to the economic collapse but I don't think that alone explains it. We're still seeing other metal records bring $800++. Just a few from 2010 auctions: Big Daisy, Tyrant, Ricochet, Paradoxx, Paragon (twice), Liquid Earth, Mayhem (three times), Stormchild (twice, late 2009), and those are just off the top of my head. So big money is still being spent on metal vinyl this year

Everyone knows that rattlehead's copy of a given album is worth at least 50% more than any other copy of the album in the same condition :D

Seriously though, some folks forget to 'shop around'. Others apparently are willing to pay a premium to deal with Jim, who has an excellent reputation as a metal dealer going back 10+ years. Nothing against Jim- he's a top-notch dealer in my book- but personally, for that big a price difference, I'll take my chances with the unknown Icelandic seller. I can understand paying an extra ~10-20% to get the item from a known and trusted source, but an extra 50+%?! No way.

While there are deadbeat sellers out there, you can avoid a lot of them if you're careful. I think I've only ran into 2 in almost 12 years of ebaying, and one of those wasn't a metal dealer (old ebay ID victorianlamplighter, a true piece of human shit from Canada).

Also, the extra-high prices Jim often gets tend to throw off people's price estimations. A potential seller will see these 2 listings on popsike and they'll want the same amount Jim got, not the same amount the Icelander got. Not Jim's fault at all, but I suspect his collection sell-off over-inflated the value of many records. It doesn't apply to every record he sells of course, but on many items I think other sellers will have a hard time matching the price he got.

Perhaps not an insane auction, but the current price dive of nwobhm records continue.

NWOBHM is definitely not 'in' this spring. The big rarities continue to do well, but the other stuff is definitely down. Good time to buy if you're missing anything

It often stays close to $300, so I thought this was a pretty good price for the seller. Does get above $300 from time to time. Most of his items have been selling a little higher than usual, but he's had some nice stuff listed the past few weeks

I believe next years Salem's Wych will go higher and higher! It is getting rarer to come up for sale!

Luckily, mine costed me around 50$!

Which CDs, and does the guy you did the trade with need any more of them?

What the hell, let's not stick to MH CDs! I also offer CDs from Metal Invader and any publication of Unisound!
:D
