Sorry. Yes, that's the one. I know there are several other bands using the "Abomination" moniker but like I said it was 5:00 AM when I posted that

The debut is OK material, they got much better (and more deathmetallic) in the following unreleased LP Future - Our Terror.

I should check that one out then. More deathmetallic doesn't sound too bad for me.

From my personal taste:
Recipientes Of Death(already mentioned)
Flames (fave greek thrash band)
Mutilator
Demolition Hammer
Vulcano
and my faves : Morbid Saint and Devastation(specially Signs Of Life)

Vacant Grave, Burnt Offering & Archenemy (California) were all in this category, all from 85-87.

Vacant Grave seems like an interesting band. I'm gonna try to check them out.

Silent Scream (CA, USA) would also fit.

Really? Even though SoL is a big step up from the rather bad debut, the vocals still leave something to be desired. Their top moment IMO was the last one, Idolatry. Better production, better songs and, at last, some decent vocals.

I totally agree, I just wish this album were faster.

Gladiator from Slovakia has been mentioned too: I have heard some of their songs off the awful sounding "Thrash metal made in Slovakia" casette and they were bloody great for me. I have seen some vids of theirs but these in turn sound just too sterile. Well, that`s the might of old tapes. :)

Now listening to the unreleased "Pieces"-album by ARMOROS (pre-Strapping Young Lad a.o.), and this one fits perfectly in this thread. Also WARGOD's first demo "Day Of Atonement" (feat. Gene Hoglan and Michelle Meldrum!) must be mentioned!
