Let's keep it on topic. There's no way we can all agree on this kind of subjects.

Wow, so much senseless DEMON-bashing going on here, haha. Yes, they are more Hardrock than Metal, but no, they are not bad at all. Similar case with GASKIN or SARACEN, not the hardest either, but with lots of great, epic moments.
SAMURAI
OMEN SEARCHER
TRIARCHY
ENERGY
ATLANTIS RISING
SHAFTSBURY
that`s what i call bad, or rather boring NWOBHM

This topic is utterly useless.

Are you sure you mentioned Gaskin?! How can tracks like Burning Alive, The Despiser, End of the World be more hrock than metal?!
And Energy's Fight For Freedom should definitely be among the best NWOBHM tracks

Seconded. Also, Triarchy is killer! Omen Searcher is cool too.

Daniel, I thought that you were able to take a joke?

The fact that Daniel just couldn't help himself making his point was very much the fun of it. It feels kind of like watching some old Laurel and Hardy movie sometimes... No hard feelings I hope.
Impulse post?
Just humour.

To me, Demon, a bit like Witchfynde, are more disappointing than out and out bad. I mean, they have the dark, mysterious song titles/lyrics that get you expecting something amazing and heavy but then the music generally ends up being really bland. Both bands at least managed a couple of standout, memorable songs though.
As far as bad NWOBHM bands go, I've managed to avoid most of the worst. A lot of those bands you can judge by the cover. (ie. the soppy commercial non-metal ones)
And there a lot more bad NWOBHM albums or songs, rather than bad bands. Just think of later albums by bands like Jaguar, Black Rose, Tokyo Blade and nearly everything by Tygers of Pantang.

Actually I rank Energy's "Conquer The World" as one of my top nwobhm EP's. Title track is a killer!

If people are getting riled up over Demon, this is going to drive everyone berserk: Witchfinder General. When I got Death Penalty, I thought it was going to be like Angel Witch. Instead most of it is second-rate Sabbath worship with awful lyrics (No Stayer and Free Country are so bad they nearly make me embarrassed to be a metalhead). Burning A Sinner is a cool tune, but that's about it.
