I can't say that Enforcer are bad. The bands material is a lot stronger and more convincing than a lot of other modern bands and they are actually able to write a few decent Speed Metal riffs. However, I don't understand this whole "if it's Metal and it's Swedish, it's awesome" mentality...

Yeah no matter how you look at it - that's fucking silly. But the band is good indeed.. I dig their stuff a lot since I first time heard Speed Queen.

I thought they were quite lame on stage. Much better on album in my opinion. Too much trained posing and jumping around, just crank it up and mosh!

I liked also Cauldron's MLP but I don't think I could listen to their stuff for an hour without falling to sleep. Goat Horn had some good moments also. And gig they played in KIT few years ago was brilliant. Posers or not.

That's not a mentality I think I have ever encountered. There is a fistful of great or promising underground metal bands in Sweden today, but it certainly doesn't make up for all the crap and mediocrity. in no way is Sweden any sort of sanctuary for real metal, and I don't believe anyone is making it out to be either.

Like in every scenes, there's good and bad bands.... but once again with that new wave of "'80s wanna be like bands" there's a lot of crap bands. Only a handful deserve to be supported at the end of the end of the day.
If the GREAT '80s bands had got half of the support todays band get , then many wouldn't have broke up..even a third of the support. No shit.

Yeah right. Enforcer have sold around 2000 copies of their debut album. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Cirith Ungol's King of the Dead sold a little more than that. And that probably doesn't even begin to describe how many Sortilège sold of Métamorphose. The support for metal was much stronger in the 80's than today, no matter from what angle you're looking.

That goes for the 80's metal scene(s) too. Honestly, more than 50 % of all NWOBHM bands who put out a single 30-25 years ago were utter shite. Regardless, they are considered cult today, for no good reason. So today is no different. The shit bands of today just haven't turned cult yet.

Well I haven't seen them live yet (will see later this year) but I've heard a couple mp3s of them performing live. Both covers (Jonah Quizz's Attack and Maiden's Purgatory) and at least those sounded really really good.

trust me,plenty of newer bands would like to have such a good recording for a debut album, maybe people familiar with recording studios n bands could tell u they took care of the last detail, from even the sound of cymbals to the singer´s tuning...which is cool, thats no sin, but when that happens, you have to b aware you have to do ur best live...personally i dont like bands that sound like one thing on the record and like other live, that goes for anyone ,old or new, overproduced or not
