Looking for finnish technical doom ((?) or at least they had some Confessor sound there) band THE SMELL demo or anything. Only seen their video on It too hot to rock dvd compilation.

From ex- Yugo there came also early death metal act Russian Winter (ca 1985/86). One member made also fanzine "Death Breath".

Edit: actually the zine was called "Death Speaks" (re-check done)

I heard about them, but never listened to them...I think they were from Serbia...

SLOD were cool...at the time...very fast stuff...Now I would call them rubbish but at the time as it was new and intense it was cool....
There was like a bunch of YUGO acts back then..I remember gettibng tons of tapes there...RUSSIAN WINTER, OPDAKI CIVIsomething etc that I don't recall..... there was an early thrash 'zine there done by a guy called Bosjan or something...'84...

It was called Opadki Civilizacije, came also from Ljubljana.

Possibly because at that point I wasn't caring much anymore about those Yugo bands

Yeazh U.B.R, III KATEGORIJA...I had all that stuff..Live tapes, demos..... they had a bunch of underground bands at the time! Just like France had with UHF, DEATH NOISE, HELLFIRE, BESTIAL etc...

Holding the tape in my hand, but unfortunately the last season of Entourage just finished downloading so I have more important matters to attend to.

...and VELOURIUM has to go first in any case.

Poisonoise should have a "communist metal" thread. I've always been interested in listening to music done under such regimes. Just listen to Russian or Yugoslavian bands. The bands that existed both under communism and then democracy had done more interesting music in the old days, I think it has something to do with being extremely underground and even illegal.
Just in case I wanna make clear that I'm not making any political point one way or the other, just saying something I notice at a musical level.
