So not 'fake' then..? Real drumming!??
I don't understand... the drummer still has to do all the work, that's not fake.

You mean fake 'sound'?

When you compare Mysticum to Artillery the playing is very real on 'By Inheritance' (if electronic sounding) whereas Mysticum is a programmed drum-machine!
Completely opposite: Mysticum - Fake, Artillery - Real
???
Yes...????

but Mysticum aren't 'fake' because they don't try to sound like real drums. There's no deception involved. I wouldn't call a record by Autechre - all sequenced/programmed - 'fake' in any way. The word is wrong to describe Mysticum.

A band that has a drum machine that's so expertly done that sounds like real drums however might decieve you, the listener. But if you end up thinking they're real drums, what did you lose? So it's a non-point there as well, only of academic interest.

If the sounds sound tinny or electronic or compressed or super-gated or awful, that's just a bad choice of trigger, nothing fake about any of it.

I do not mind if drums are fake.Is a way of making music sounds great. But not the whole album.

All of Forefather's releases. The band consists of two brother's and they have no plans of adding any additional members so they use a drum machine for all their recordings.

OK SO...MY idea of a rock/heavy metal band is at least, a guitar ,a bass a vocalist and a drummer ,all real...or at least thats the way the forefathers of rock taught us....so if some band claiming to be (_)metal uses like two members and the rest electronic, for me is a fake rock band...the music can be good but its not the same feeling ,at least for me :(
