I dare to claim they still are, at least "Volcano" was awesome, despite being commercial and all.. that was one of the albums whose discovery brought me back to metal 6 years ago, after a decade of infidelity

when it comes to SATYRICON I'm usually listening to that one but spun the first three earlier today and was blown away by their same greatness!
