We wouldn't recognize them as rare items, we would just sell them to the first person who wants them and then the comic collectors would go berserk on the collectors forums and wonder how stupid people are,haha, just like we do when things like that happen with records...

I agree, you did not get any real feelings about the band from that sample

Hard times makes me offer the rarest piece of Cirith Ungol memorabilia, and my most important in my collection. Although I never achieved any success I am hoping that one of our fans has been more successful and can aquire this once in a lifetime piece of rock history.

It would be more decent to start the auction at a normal price and then let the fans decide what it's worth.

I can totally understand it. He figures its not worth parting with unless he gets an amount that can actually help with the financial problems he must be dealing with. I imagine a sentimental attachment to a piece like that would be quite high, it would be a damn shame to start bidding at 99 cents and end up getting only 10% of what you wanted for it in the end, I sure as hell wouldn't risk it.

Agreed. That said, I don't know if he can get that kind of price for it or not.
I remember he sold a lot of CU memoribilia on ebay maybe 10 years ago; had drum heads with bloodstains on them

What he wants for it and what people are willing to pay are two different things.
I can understand the sentimental factor, but that isn't always related to the price of an item.
My Iron Maiden CDs have a great sentimental value to me, they don't cost much though and it would be quite naive to believe that they should bring me hundreds of dollars because of that if I had to sell them one day, I hope you understand what I mean.

However, the difference in this case, is that Garven is one of the people responsible for the creation of this record. Hence, I believe he can do as he pleases with such a unique pressing of this classic and beloved by many album. It is justifiable.
After all, we live in a crazy world, where a Manilla Road's - The Deluge digipack CD was recently sold for $1000. I don't believe that any amount of this money went to Shelton's pocket.
