Only when it comes to bootlegs. If you are a vero memeber then your copyrighted work is protected.

Aha, this seems to mean that there is no guaranteed way of reporting shill bidding and have ebay pull the auction immediately. I still stick to my theory above, ebay knowingly allow shill bidding to inflate prices and ban the user after the auction.

Like Dwarr and Saint V.

Most Hipsters in the USA need these in there collection even if the rest of the collection is HipHop, Disco, or New Age

Other websites also allow 'illegal' items on their site all the time to boost profits. Etsy is supposed to allow only hand-made/crafts items to be sold, but more and more companies are putting plastic junk made in bulk in Taiwan on the site. Etsy e-store owners have complained nonstop about this and etsy doesn't even reply to them. More sales = more $, so what does etsy care if the site is flooded with cheap crap that shouldn't be on there? :(

Bids have started to appear on the Witch record, with the usual bid retractions, at $779.

Did you really believe that noone would bid on it? You can be sure that even one member of this forum placed a bid or will win it. Just in case everyone here says boycott the auction, so 9 out of 10 guys will prohably do it but the 10th guy won't let the chance go to get a Witch LP at 350 $ ... haha

Of course I know people here will bid. However, knowing that the seller uses shill bidding, I was hoping they'd all pitch in their max bids during the last 5 second, hence not allowing time for the shill to put a bid in.

Many times when a rare record appears at Ebay and has never shown before (or many years have passed since the last time), a second copy appears right after it.
It's a classic "OMG this sells for ....$ !!!! I might as well sell my copy."
