I was wondering if someone could educate me in the Desolation Angels 12" various pressings. I always see the "Brazilian" pressing but that doesn't seem all that official, or at least that's what I've been presuming.

Nightlock- the original Desolation Angels pressing is from 1986 and is on Thameside label from the UK. The Brazilian press that's often seen for sale was done in 1987 by a Brazilian metal mag (Rock Brigade I think). There's no major difference in artwork, tracklist, etc TMK. I've heard that it was actually a legit pressing but I don't know for certain. In the past, the Thameside pressing, which showws up much less often, typically sells for $40-75, and the brazilian pressing sells for $25-40. THese prices may be outdated given how much metal vinyl has been increasing in price in the last year or two. It's a killer album, MUCH better than their later demos. It can be hard to find a copy of either pressing in NM/NM condition. Hope that helps.
PS- excellent RIOT quote in your sig!

It does help that's exactly the information I was looking for thanks a lot! I've got the Desolation Angels 7" which is amazing. Saw the Brazilian press on ebay and was considering putting a best offer on it (As I've seen it elsewhere for around the same price as the "buy it now") but might hold out for the original now.
Riot signature has been my sig since day one I think amazing song I even love the orchestrated parts.
insanly high vocals - "slaaave to your loovers and slaave to your lesseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeoooooooeeeers"

The Desolation Angels single is also good, but the album slays! The demos they did in the later 80s are rather weak IMO. There may be a bootleg picture disc of the LP that came out of South America within the last 10 years but I'm not sure about that.
Rhett was an awesome singer. I love the album he did with Jack Starr ('out of the darkness'); great songs and great performances on that one!

you are incorrect, there is no boot pic disc of the DA full length lp.

Thanks for clarifying! So many of those pic disc boots turned up that I lost track of which titles were and weren't put out!

The first half of that album is amazing the second half goes downhill a lot

False Messiah is an Epic Metal anthem! Jag Panzer later covered it I think still haven't heard that version though. Dogbone is bellow mediocre lacklustre though pity such a great voice was involved in such a middle of the road hard rock album. The two Rhett Forrester solo albums are good for what they are, I probably wouldn't like them if it was anyone else apart from Rhett though haha. Voyage To Nowhere rules!

It's another illegal pressing. I'm not 100% sure who put that out though.

I own this and it looks very "Old Metal" to me.
However, there is no record label anywhere to be found on the disc/inserts.
