If we take into consideration that EVERYTHING is pressed on LP, there is no more proof needed to justify this notion. So we have hundreds of those 500-1000 vinyl pressings and that's only in the heavy metal genre, I have no idea what are the numbers in other vinyl related genres that are revived lately, from pop bands (I mean real bands not computer music) to rock and electronic music, isn't this a comeback or what? More and more bands record analog for a reason (or two).
Some info from another forum:

Sales of new LPs continues to rise (the only physical format on the increase).

Queens Of The Stone Age sold 12,000 copies of their new release "...Like Clockwork" on vinyl in the first week of release (91,000 copies total including other formats).

Daft Punk's latest album moved 19,000 copies on vinyl in the first 2 weeks of release

Would have been 12.001 if I had went to the shop that week.
Are these numbers US only? Because I can't imagine QOTSA selling just 91.000 copies worldwide in one week.

That was posted on US forum and I guess it was meant for USA only.

My question is this: Does anyone knows clearly if the "other formats" includes digital also?

Hard to say since the last two copies put on ebay were ended early. Thus, this is the first public sale of a copy in recent years TMK (I could have missed a sale of course). I wouldn't have been surprised if it had sold a bit higher.
