Even though Canada uses the Metric System, measurements such as pounds, feet and inches are still the most commonly used today.

1.60 means 1 metre, 60 centimetres.

Interesting topic by the way. Actually, Wikipedia states: "According to the US CIA World Factbook in 2006, the International System of Units is the primary or sole system of measurement for all nations except for Myanmar, Liberia and the United States."

Even though inhabitants of certain nations like the UK and USA (and Canada, apparently) continue to use non-SI units I'd wager that it's pretty safe to say that most people around the world use the metric system or a derivative thereof (take for example China, where the traditional weight "jin" was redefined to 0.5 kg).

Well, I'd say by normal standards, "short" for a male is anything under 5'8.

I'm 5'11 by the way.

The "scale" human male when used in a comparison is always 6'0 though.

So, I'd say that's average.
