This is not true, his Loud Crowd CD for instance is probably the same bootleg sold by Greek sellers. His Trouble - Manic Frustration album is also a bootleg. And I don't see any warning on them.Priamos wrote:All I have to mention for his defence (as you might suspected I know the guy) is that he always gives a warning ("later edition", "later private press" etc) when it comes to a bootleg and he doesn't try to pass it for original.
Bootleg Warning Thread - CD (2012)
Yeah...I checked the examples you mentioned... There is no doubt that he claims both for original. Now we need a daring man to buy them to see if they are bootlegs or not!Shimrod wrote:This is not true, his Loud Crowd CD for instance is probably the same bootleg sold by Greek sellers. No kidding, if they are bootlegs indeed, then he is a major scumbag and I'm really sorry I wasted even a second on him and I harmed my reputation by defending him.
I now had more time to browse his shop. There are other examples that look fishy: Saint's albums on Pure Metal (original for this cheap?), Risk albums (he sold many according to his feedbacks and they are really cheap), Vicious Rumors on Atlantic, Cirith Ungol compilation, etc. And I'm not talking about private (= legally self-released from the bands) releases for which he sells bootlegs (Visitor, Kryst, Medieval Steel).
This would have been better for everyone. But I guess its either they prefer to leave it "vague" and some (many) get misled or it's just they are afraid that if they admit it openly, someone will press charges against them. But something more diplomatic but still clear (like "unofficial") could do if they realy wanted not to mislead someone.Avenger wrote:Or he could just flat out say, "bootleg".Priamos wrote:he always gives a warning ("later edition", "later private press" etc)

The bootleg has been out for a while now. There's no point typing matrix text any more these days as most of the recent boots are the same. You need a scan for comparison or you are going to get ripped off.ensiferum2k19 wrote:new bootleg?

I'm very puzzled about a ebay-user called paul_a_royd (http://myworld.ebay.ch/paul_a_royd/?_trksid=p4340.l2559)
According to his feedback he has sold over 10 copies of Grinder - Dawn For The Living alone in 2012, and I already saw some copies earlier, every copy was sold for between 40-80 Euros.
Here's the recent auction: http://www.ebay.ch/itm/Grinder-Dawn-for ... 667wt_1397
My question now, could he just put the bootleg in yellow trays to make it look like the original?

He is acutally an ex-member of the band if i remember right, it was Stefan Arnold, thats why he has so many copies.
Also the case looks like an old one from 80s/90s.
I hope he's gone for good. Probably somebody sued him, his ebay account is shut down. That should happen for every fuckin bootleger too !Heathen wrote: I wonder what happened to the guy that made these boots. he was the public enemy number one in many CD collector circles and now it semms he dissapeared.
