It has taken its place in (Hard) Rock history rightly, no matter what some "Underground Warriors" do say about it. :D

Q: Was the LP ever released with an ebossed sleeve? Or was that just the 7"?
I only know of the Aries version without embossed sleeve, but in gatefold cover. There is also that re-mix album, but i prefer the original versions of the songs.

I've got the LP and I think it's pretty decent but no more. The song writing is a bit naïve and the sound of it is... dry? There aren't really any riffs that stand out either, and the lyrics are probably a bit embarassing, but I don't really mind. You shouold not pay a lot for it IMO:
